Most of the time I don't care about the length but some are way to short.

I like things long and drawn because I'm a big baby and I get upset when series end!

well, it depends.i prefer average lenght Manga i guess. but i don't like the ones that drag on forever. it should be as long as it needs to to tell the story well. I like Manga to be fairly long because i get attached to characters, and its so sad to see them go when your done reading the series. however, some of my favorite Manga are pretty short (Full Moon wo Sagashite, Chobits)

I prefer shorter series, because if there is to collect too many books of one title, there comes to problem of unfinished series you have. :) Look, this problem exists: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=13260

I like around 5-7 volumes. Enough time to flesh out a good story, but not long enough to be monotonous. And you can easily read something that length in a day.

One example of a manga gone on too long: Inuyasha. I have been reading Inuyasha FOREVER, and I just want it to be over because I don't even care anymore, lol

I prefer shorter ones, considering I have to borrow from the library. I have had to drop alot of long manga b/c the library doesn't always have the whole series *cries*

Don't really mind how long they are just so long as they don't bore me.

I tend to prefer series around the 15 mark, but most of what I'm reading now have exceeded 25 volumes. I'm mostly in it for character development.

It depends on the story and the author. If the story is really good, I usually like it long, about 15-20 volumes. It gets boring if it's so long.

Depends on how much I like the series. Something like:

Bleach
D.Gray-man
Fairy Tail
One Piece

I can deal with atleast another 100 chapter for those. It use to be the same with Naruto, but im not really sure atm. Claymore i'd want that much, but I don't feel like waiting 100 years for it to come out.>.< Maybe if it were weekly. Gantz not so sure. I love it and all, but it gives too much heartbreak.:( 60-70 more would do it.>.>

On the other hand stuff like BLAME!, Biomega, and Skyhigh are better short. I just wish the other manga were atleast 25-35 pages per chapter. 17-19 isn't good enough.

Generally I like series that stretch from about 10-20 volumes. Give or take a book or two. They usually have a nice pace to them, arn't too drawn out or too rushed.

short series... 1, they are easier to remember the story and what chapter you are on (if MAL and other sites didn't existed.)

Reading a 250+ chapters manga, you basically re-read and skip some chapters and forget all about the beginning. ><

Depends on the author and the story personally and this may sound shallow but if I like the authors style of drawing too.

For the most part, I enjoy reading longer manga, with at least 20+ volumes. It makes me sad when manga is over so quickly :P Especially one-shot single volume manga.. :| I like thickening plots and lots of character development..

a good story is a good story, i dont mind long or short ones, at long as its good.

however i really dont fancy single volume types. its really a little too short, unless done by my favorite mangaka(s).

It doesn't matter to me. I'll read it. I guess I like longer ones if there's a lot of characters I like in it

long if really good, but sometimes I prefer short n sweet. But sometimes I also want one-shots to be made into full mangas.

Some manga I've read did really well as one-shots. Others that expanded over 50 volumes also were just as good, even if it takes longer to complete and collect them.

It really depends on the series. For something like Naruto, I can't imagine that series getting over in just a few volumes. It was almost destined for a long haul.
