Stop asking, would you KINDLY? xD Most expected around November/December, but nobody who makes the change has said anything about it yet. And as I've said here before, the release date would be all over the place if it was announced.

@Nyr: I like the praise you're giving to the movie, because all you said truly is true!

That's irrelevant. Everyone has had the chance to see season two by now. Not many liked it either (!). It's the Shoushitsu we need. You can be the first to tell us when it's released on DVD/BD.

Then read the novels, if you don't want to wait years and years for a sequel that just might come. I think he's going back in volume 7.

This is my first time posting anything in the forum, but I could not keep silent after what I just watched. I just watched the screening of the movie at NYAF with Minori Chihara and I was just amazed. Overall I thought the plot was very well written with many unexpected plot twists and epic moments. Even though the movie was two and a half hours long, I didn't feel that there was a single wasted second. It kept you guessing until the end and you never knew which way it was going to take you. They also gave some much needed character development to Yuki who I now respect much more as a character.

I liked all the references of the first and second season scattered throughout the movie like Kyon's ponytail fetish and talking about Endless Eight.

My favorite scenes were when Kyon finally admitted that he enjoyed being a member of the brigade and the rooftop scene with Yuki.

The quality of the movie was unbelievably good and I am glad I did not resort to watching the camrip. This is definitely my favorite anime movie of all time and probably my favorite movie period. I am getting this movie as soon as it comes out on DVD.
This movie absolutely deserves 10/10 and I could not think of giving it any less.

Quoted for agreement.
I completely understand you.
I gave in and watched the camrip. =( There was and still is no other way.

How many DVD will it have for sale? Knows it anywhere? In Amazon.co.jp the Haruhi Movie is in Conserves and DVD-Boxes in 5 variations. Why do they it (the parts) not summarized in only in one set of the Haruhi Movie? Why is the so many prices for the movie disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya?

Last day of the Scotland Loves Animation festival was today and...we just got the European Premier of the film. Now i went into it with a weird feeling that it wouldn't match up to what is my favourite novel from the series, but thankfully after watching it, i was proved wrong.

The music was utterly superb(anyone who can point me in the direction of the classical piece played gets a cookie), the animation was great, but the portrayal of the characters, Sugitas performance as Kyon, Spot on. I hope people realised after watching this that it wasn't about Kyon, more Yuki, but there we go.

10/10. Now where's my wallet, i need that Blu-Ray.

Edit: Oh and while i remember. If you where wondering if you need to cover something for this(and sorry if it has been mentioned before), But try and watch Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody before you go for disappearance, helps for a bit.

After anticipating this for the past 9 months, this film has finally come to Singapore, screened last Sunday at AFA X, and is currently screening at a single location this week.

Well, I just watched it this morning, and may I just comment that at least three quarters of the audience got a heart attack (HHHNNNNNNGGGGGG) whenever this happened. And at this scene. And this.

S$8 well spent. Though, I'm rather disappointed that the amp went up to 11 and destroyed our ear drums during the OP. And the video had a 0.4s lag against the audio. It's a shame.

Technicalities aside, the plot was solid enough to keep me captivated for the entire 2hr40min duration of the movie.

The audience at my screening were also an interesting bunch:
1. simultaneous HNNNGGGGs at Nagato scenes
2. random nonsensical declaration that Shamisen is the one who caused the time alteration.
3. wondering out loud if there would be a third Asahina as an obaa-chan to join the teenager and adult Asahina-tachi. (-tachi??)
4. etc etc.

Also, I'm glad that I decided not to rape my eyes with camrips. (:

Might be biased, but imma giving a 10/10 for this.

Oh yes, the audience did a simultaneous (once again) gasp at Haruhi's Kouyouen Gakuin uniform. And a 'kita!!" by some random guy.

Nagato may induce heart attacks, but Haruhi still wins the popularity vote among my screening's audience.

Well, I just finished watching it. I loved it :) lol. I gladly give it a 10/10 because it executed everything a movie should have: story, epicness, action, mind-****ing, comedy, music perfectly. It was a lot better than other anime I've seen in a while, and I think it deserves its current first place anime-movie position, and it was well worth the wait.

That truly was a near perfect adaption. The scene where Kyon asks himself which world he prefers was a bit dragged out, but other than that it was simply amazing and more than enough for a 10/10. There's nothing more worthy of being number 400 on my completed list.

9/10 from me. It was wonderful; beautifully animated, great plot, very close to the original novel. My only complaints are that it was far too quiet at some parts, and one or two bits felt dragged out. Really, really lovely though.

This anime made me realize why I'm different from other people, why my life is so boring and why "decent" people always are making fun of someone different. Don't get swallowed by reality, be yourself, find your true desires, and FUCK THOSE PEOPLE who only lives to satisfy their sensual desires. I'M REALLY SERIOUS ABOUT THIS.

I agree with you, but I don't understand the last part of your statement. I think you meant people making fun of someone who decides take a 'harder' path in life, when it's something they really enjoy doing. There are more risks and hardships for living abnormally, and all the 'decent' people would make fun of someone for living differently. I totally get that. Also, there are limits to how much we can live to the extreme, especially outside of high school. In the case of the Haruhi movie, it's a very realistic situation for Kyon as a highschool student deciding to go with normal or abnormal. I'm kind of pressured by my family to take a job that will just make life easier, but I'd rather do the harder job that has more risks. It makes life more interesting. If people make fun of me for that, if people make fun of someone for being different... yeah I agree... fuck them lol. The abnormal GREATLY outweighs the normal in terms of what makes life more interesting and worth experiencing.

YEAH!, sometimes people just care and that's why they are making fun of you because they think you are going down a bad path that will just lead to failure, but it's really up to you. I don't know if you noticed but when Kyon was going crazy, so many people were giving him the WTF looks and talking behind his back. He really doesn't care about what people around him think... it was so obvious wherever he went, people were like "what the heck is wrong with him?" This guy was just drawing attention to himself without caring. Like you said Dizzee, he wasn't going to let the reality of the situation swallow him. He definitely didn't decide to just give up and resort to living a normal, easy life. You could say Kyon is actually very selfish! Spoiler: He was willing to shoot Nagato no matter what in order to attain the abnormal life he desires, despite the fact Nagato did a huge favor for herself and him, to make his life eaiser. That's what matters the most in the end of this movie. He chose the harder life over the utopia. I really liked these details in this movie.

So in the end, yes, this movie made me think and realize a lot too. That's why I give this a movie a 10/10 because it's smart and realistic, and you can probably tell I AM SUPER SERIOUS ABOUT THIS TOO because i waited near a freaking year to see this.

That was a great movie. The animation was fantastic and the plot was very interesting, but for me, it definitely isn't the best anime movie I've seen.

Now don't get me wrong. I still enjoyed this movie a lot; it's just that I can't help thinking that it seems quite overrated as the top movie on this site. When I compare it to other works like 5cm and Eve no Jikan, I find the artwork and storyline of Haruhi mediocre. Maybe it's just my personal tastes. Maybe I went into the movie with too high expectations.

Regardless, I liked the movie and these are just my personal opinions.
