You go out to buy a food item you've seen on anime.   You meticulously plan out where to go during an anime convention to get the best and limited items from dealers.  You are super excited when your postcard/fan art is published in a popular magazine, like Newtype.  Rather than doing your homework/work, you play games, read manga, go online, etc.  Your room is full of otaku stuff like posters, figures, and manga that you read once/buy to have it and leave it around your room.  You know the song/dance of Hare Hare Yukai from Melancholy of Haruhi or Motteke Sailor Fuku from Lucky Star by memory.   You go outside and cosplay in public.
