I just finished reading chapter 127... and i have too say, i'm getting tired of reading it... Especially the Ren and Kyoko love story... What is wrong with Ren, and he can't propose to Kyoko? yeah, yeah, there's the age difference, and him not being emotionally ready for relationship... But is he really going to wait for Sho to take Kyoko away from him? or perhaps the other guy, band member who became Kyoko's stalker?

One of my favourite things about the manga is how it doesn't rush things and doesn't make the romance the main feature of the story. I would be so happy if things keep developing that this natural rate. I am grateful though that Kyoko finally discovered her Natsu because I was ready for that struggle to be resolved.

i don't like mangas that are rush too... but i've read 22 volumes of this manga already... that's quite a lot! considering there's little progress between the relationships among the characters... don't get me wrong, i still love this manga!! one of my favorites...

I dont think, that it is too long, but actualy the chapters are just too short. So you just have to wait thinking how long it will take to the next progress, but when you read it in one peace it is ok.
Beacause it is not just one story, but there are these stories and everyone has an end.

I dont think its too long, its an amazing story, and it doesnt have so many filler chapters like so many other great mangas do, and it just seems draggy because the chapters are short and being released so far apart.

I think one of the better aspects of this manga is that it's taking a while to develop the relationship--which means it's more realistic, more interesting, and there's a lot about developing as an actor and a person outside of the relationship. Also, it's not over before it even gets going. (I've only read up to Vol. 14, though.) But when I get a new volume, it's engrossing in and of itself. I like things that are so interesting at the point you're reading, you're not always looking ahead to the next page or chapter or volume, you're enjoying yourself right where you are, even sometimes to the point that you don't want it to go faster at all. So few books are like that. (sigh)

acualy the slow devolpment on the relationship is fine with me sence to me it is more like a sub plot. oh and the short chapters is frustrating only cause of the slow release tho i alwes find slow release hard to bare reguardless of how long the chapters are

Personally I like the slow pace. Frankly, as much as I love Ren and Kyoko, the number one reason I follow the manga is because I want to see Kyoko's growth as a person and skill; my number one reason isn't seeing the romance. (If this was the case I'd pick up another series.)

Also, rather I hate how fast some relationships happen in shoujo.
Many times it just feels really forced and unreal. Well maybe you can argue that's why it's fiction, but that's me and I like slow developments.
It just feels so much more rewarding to see the relationship shaping up after a wait than seeing it in the 2nd volume or something.

As much as one can say shoujo is all about romance, I think (and my favorite shoujo manga series are like this) that mangaka who don't force the relationship and concentrates on building plot and characters end up with a much successful work.

I don't think it's too long. I like the pace and I'll be incredibly sad to see it go. However, I wouldn't want it to be as long as Inuyasha or Naruto. -.- Also, 127 chapters is not long in my book.

Well there was that psychical block Ren had...but they're both such dummies when it comes to love... I still totally love them <3 It makes it more precious to see those lovely sweet moments they share at times. But I won't give up on my wish for them to act in some drama as couple. I definitely wants. T_T
Anyway, slow pace of this manga is also a good point for me. I actually can't find bad points. Wait. There is one. It doesn't come out often enough. T________T
Need to make new sig. Soon. Maybe.

I definitely agree sometimes that more is better.

and I agree that the relationship should be taken slowely...however, throw the readers a bone. The 'romantic' moments are far and few between :(

I wouldn't say that it is too long, but there should at least be a little bit more of a drvelopment between the characters. That, or give some of the other characters more time cause I feel like Kanae has been forgotten about.

there are longer mangas but i think its just long enugh. but i'm just angry that ren is so mature about kyoko. i wish he'd just let her know how he feels at least instead of just moping. and i hope the author brings back kyoko's "stalker" i like him he seems like an interesting character

i get that a lot of people don't want it to end
but if it becomes too long it won't have the same impact!!!!!!!!!!!!!
especially since there is a lot the manga has to cover like- ren's past, kyoko's relationship with her mom, sho and ren's feeling toward kyoko, kyoko's career and etc. This manga is bound to be long because there is a lot it has to cover and we want all that to come at us fast so the only thing we can do is wait as a friend wisely told me!!!!!!!!!

It is not that I think it is getting too long. It is just that sometimes I wonder how many volumes will it be before it comes to an end. Will it be more than 30 volumes? Anyway, I am enjoying it now so I am not thinking much about it.

I wish I can see more development between in the relationships (esp. Kyoko and Ren) but part of me is also enjoying the thrill of their something-significant-yet-not-quite. I also like to see Kyoko's progress to achieving her dream so nope, I don't think it's too long.

I don't want it to end but it has to end for them to live happily ever after like a princess and a prince, the ideal dream of Kyoko!
It has to reach a part where they kiss or confess!
I am not tired of it..I mean I reread it alot of time already and I'm not tired of it yet!

I'm alright with the development as it is. Of course I'd love for Kyoko to feel a bit stronger for poor Ren, but that's pretty much impossible since Sho is still number one in her heart.

I think I wouldn't be happy if skip beat just ended without covering the following aspects:
1.- Kyoko's revenge on Sho (I'll be so happy to see the bastard defeated and utterly forgotten by Kyoko).
2.- Ren's acceptance of his true self/Ren revealing he is Kuon to the world.
3.- Kyoko's turning point from being just an actress who can do evil characters to a round actress who can do other type of characters.
4.- Moko-chan's and Kyoko's success.

Sadly, nobody knows how long Nakamura Sensei will be asked to keep up with the series, and in the end it's all about budget. I sure hope it doesn't come out rushed in the end.

Also, after reading some of her other work, I'm sort of afraid of what will happen once Kyoko realizes her feelings for Ren. I sure hope Skip Beat doesn't turn into the soap-opera Tokyo Crazy Paradise ended up as.

I was just reading the thread for the first time since I posted back in September(!), and it's true, the ending of a manga (or an anime), is full of dangerous pitfalls that few mangaka or scriptwriters seem to be able to avoid. It can be good until the end, then....it's not. In fact, it usually is not.
But let's look on the bright side, maybe Nakamura sensei will have the time and the experience to develop a beautiful ending.

TCP?Ending soap-oper-ish?Hardly.For me,it had an amazing ending;it can perhaps be called "open" but it's very "complete" at the same time. But soppy?Imo, this designation is totally unsuited.Of course, all this is just my opinion...^^
Anyway,i hope for a non-cliché ending for Skip Beat and i'm pretty positive Nakamura-sensei won't let us down. The manga is not becoming too long at all,it's (almost) perfectly built and there are many things to be resolved.Things are not as easy,Ren can't simply propose(?O_O) to Kyoko.Plus, the romance isn't the only interesting part about this manga. It's not another cliché love triangle...>_>The wonderful humor, the acting challenges, the amazing characters and character development, its unpredictability and many more make it awesome!I'm enjoying it to the fullest.I just wish i could read more chapters in one go!Waiting for every chapter to come out is certainly a pain..>_<

yah, i think so too..and it's really a shame that there really isn't much progress in ren and kyoko's relationship..sheesh!!! i'm not really following the manga and all (0_o) since i'm totally and more onto and i'm really after mostly on the romane part, i skip hapters that i know that there isn't gonna be any lovey-dovey, but sooo far, it's rather really slow, the development that is...it's kinda frustrating..!!

Well, I thought the whole "girl chases after boy who doesn't give a d*mn for more than half the series" was really tedious, but that's me. I felt like slapping Tsukasa silly for not even wanting to change her feelings towards such a self-centered, obnoxious, cheating guy. If anything, I hope Kyoko doesn't become a crying, wimpy girl but a fighter who won't let Sho get away with just some sweet words of apology. But as I said, that's just me.

Well i enjoyed every single chapter of skip beat! ... i would feel kinda sad if they would develop the relationships too fast.. and also I DON'T WANT IT TO END o.o
The main story isn't the relationship of kyoko with ren/sho/beagle/orwhatever if that were the case than nobody would like skip beat that much o.o 'cause that would be just another boring love story. What i like is the fact that it is very funny and kyoko's development from a shy girl to an indipendent woman in the showbiz.. the love story is just a minor matter.

I actually like manga that are long because once they are ongoing, I know that it is't completed. I also like it because it doesn't rush things and develops the stroy line. We get to know more, like the character's background or what they will encounter and how they will react to it.

I just like long ones. Because the short ones aren't enough for me.

IMO, its not too long. I like how the story is slow pacing and flowing, there are a lot of shoujo that the main couple goes back and forth. And for me that's more annoying (just a opinion, not trying to pick a fight) coz I soon get tired of so much lovey-dovey than a slow story with full of romance and falling in love scenes.

Kyoko has already stated that she will not fall in love so soon (but now I don't know what's going to happen after the chapter 145). Personally, I'm craving for Kyoko's improvement as an actress than her love affairs.

I think the pacing is alright... and somehow I feel that even though we may feel exasperated by Kyoko's slow realisation of her feelings...it makes a hell lot of sense, considering everything that happened...same goes for Ren and Sho (in different ways, of course).

But what I'm really interested in is how Kyoko is gonna handle her career as an actress... what if she gets a role that doesn't require so much of being in the 'negative' side? Or that new challenges will come in the form of a random (and possibly crazy) director who demands a new Kyoko? Imagine getting Kyoko to depict a young woman deeply in love...lol I can almost see her reaction to that.

Ahhh I'm getting carried away with my imagination of all sorts of roles she might get :p

You know, I reread all of the chapters for Skip Beat, and it really isn't as long and drawn out at is feels.

Seriously, when you have only 12 chapters a year, and can feel like its dragging.....sometimes you don't see Ren for a whole year ;_; So depressing. I really think the Mangaka needs to do a biweekly release instead.

how someone could even consider that it is too long? :p I love it so much that I'm afraid that I'll break down when it ends xP But fortunately(?)... for now i don't have anything to fear, with such rapidity releasing the new chapters and the amount of blur threads, skip beat should accompany me for some time. And as for the problem with dragging this manga, well... the main reason should be frequency of coming out the new chapters and for those who read it only for the romance, the slow progress in this area.
