ive been thinking about characters and ive got a question, do you know of any character/characters that appear in 2 or more shows. Im not talking about spin offs and such more like 2 completely or mostly unrelated titles I think a good example would be like stan lee in the marvel movies it doesent need to be a important role just something noticeable but not as a reference as such just an obvious appearance of the same character in 2 different story's no cinematic universe stuff just 2 completely different storys (kind of countering my example but you get the point). I don't have any good examples due to western copyright making these kinds of characters hard but i thought there may be more in anime due to different copyright laws

Hmm, the only character that I can recall would be her:

@dunkelfalke same mangaka, it fits but not especially what i was looking for as its not reoccurring and more of a one off thing

@Szwell well, in kimi no na wa she has only a cameo, being a background character.

It probably isn't what you are looking for but Nabeshin appears in a few different shows-

I really appreciated that Egatae (Egao no Taenai Shokuba Desu / Mangaka's Weird Wonderful Workplace) this past season brought in cameos of the Shogi master from Eisei Otome no Tatakaikata and Kanon from Amayo no Tsuki. These are all written by the same author Kuzushiro. Amayo no Tsuki is a fantastic manga BTW.

The protagonists from Bocchi the Rock appear as a cameo in a still frame of Slow Loop, funnily, BEFORE Bocchi the Rock aired.

there are two ways to go about that one: 1. Stan Lee (the real life person) is playing different characters in differen movies just like every actor does, or 2. "Stan Lee" plays the same character in all those movies, meaning they are all related (which we know is the case because every Marvel movie including those not made by Marvel Studios is now technically part of the MCU).

According to AniDB she’s made 9 cameo appearances in anime.
(Here are some cameo images from Cromartie High School, Akahori's Heretical Hour Love Game, and Galaxy Angel)

I have a few fun cases in mind, actually.

- Lots of Fujiko Fujio's stuff has the same character designs reappearing here and there, iirc it was because they thought of them as "actors"? Don't quote me on that, I think I read that on some Tumblr trivia post 10 years ago, but would make sense.

- Similarly, the whole C'est La Vie series (technically an anime, after all) franchise uses the same character designs in each entry, but their identities, dynamics and everything inbetween are totally different.

- I can't believe nobody mentioned Anime Tenchou/Meito Anizawa yet! Dude's a (technically former) mascot of a popular chain of merch stores in Japan and shows up in a whole bunch of random things (hilariously enough, always voiced by the same guy).

- Hatsune Miku of Vocaloid fame shows up as herself in Shinkalion and Jashin-chan, two unrelated series. In Shinkalion, she becomes a main cast member and gets to pilot a train mech, hilariously enough. Never seen Jashin-chan, but I think she kinda just pops up in he background to say a one-liner every few episodes or something, at least that's what clips have me believe.

- Back when Studio Trigger did fun shows, Inferno Cop of Inferno Cop fame showed up in Space Patrol Luluco.

- This one is more of a manga thing, but Shigeru Mizuki seemingly had a habit of putting his Rat Man/Nezumi Otoko in works unrelated to Gegege no Kitaro. He even shows up in Mizuki's autobiographical account of WWII and Showa-era Japan to comment on things.

@Szwell Oh, Mizuki's stuff is super fun to read, glad it got your attention. The aforementioned biography is great, but I strongly recommend starting with his short story anthologies (like 3, Street of Mysteries) or Nononba to Ore (an autobiographical account of various childhood adventures the author had with an old lady in his neighborhood that told him about youkai).

Having seen some Lucky Star scenes recently, Meito "Anime Tenchou, Jouji Gouda" Anizawa (Anime Shop Managerr) quickly comes to mind.

Basically an early 2000s store advertisement mascot.

I think Mitsuha and Taki (the MC's of Kimi no Nawa) also make a short appearance in Tenki no Ko
