Now that the movie's out, I'm curious to know which battle you think is the best overall: Tengen vs. Gyutaro or Gyu vs. Akaza? I'll always be on Tengen vs. Gyutaro's side: the animation, the soundtrack, the direction, the emotion, the tension... everything exploded in that battle. Akaza vs. Gyu was interesting, but I was a little disappointed with the plot. I expected it to be more epic, but there weren't any explosive scenes like the minute when Gyutaro and Tengen blew up the neighborhood in episode 10...
Anyway, I hope they put all their energy and strength into the second movie because my favorite battle will be animated, and it needs to be more explosive than Tengen vs. Gyutaro 🤞

The fight in season 2 between Gyutaro and Tengen was epic, from my point of view it was something too good on the animation side of a fight, something new at the time, something that revolutionized the fans perspective on Ufotable.

The fight between Gyu and Akaza was good as well, I had a phenomenal time in the theater. I don't understand why people complain about the backstory, it was very good, Gyutaro's backstory lasted somewhere around 15 minutes in an episode extended by a couple minutes. Akaza's backstory lasted somewhere around 20 minutes,so if Infinity castle wasn't a movie,Akaza's backstory could have been shorter or could have been the same ,but have an episode dedicated to him. Since Infinity Castle was made into a movie,it's okay for it to last longer.

We are waiting to see the next fights, where unfortunately for fans who love to see only fights,we will have backstory in movie 2,important one btw ;)

yeah i also feel something lacking little bit 🤏 , tengen fight is unbelievable and unexpected

I feel zenitsu fight isn't tht good as previous fights as well his all fights were soo cool . this feels little bit rushed

what are they doing with this much of budgets i don't know...??

i really feel it needed little more animation art style is excellent and colour granding is outstanding but animation wasn't tht great.

Tengen fight was unexpected and out of nowhere. The animation of S2 was already amazing and it just reached new heights in ep 10.

Giyu vs Akaza was a bit better and had better animation and better background but yeah it lacked that tension and surprise that was in the Tengen's fight.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

Absolutely Giyu and Tanjiro vs Akaza, I can’t think of a single thing I prefer about Tengen vs Gyutaro.

Better characters, better animation, 10000x better setting, better depth, higher stakes, FAR better choreography, more emotion behind it. The problem I had with Tengen vs Gyutaro was some of it was just bright explosions and random senseless clashing explosions instead of having real genuine choreography. It had a little bit of it at times but a lot of it was just big explosions. Which I get is kinda a testament to Tengens character but I still find it kinda lame. Compare that to Akaza’s fight it had real choreography throughout the entire fight and just in general it got me way more excited.

Most that’s just my own opinion but I mean come on I think everyone can agree the infinity castle is a better setting for a fight than a pleasure district

Honestly I think Zenitsu vs Kaigaku is better than Tengen vs Gyutaro it was short but finally getting a proper sword fight in the anime is something I’ve been looking forward to for ages

And in the end almost all of infinity castles fights I prefer over Tengen vs Gyutaro.

I personally enjoyed the Uzui Tengen vs. Gyuutarou fight a lot more. That’s not to say the Tanjirou and Giyuu vs. Akaza battle was bad; it was actually really good, just out of these two I see it as inferior to the other one. The Sound Pillar vs. Upper Moon 6 felt way more intense, dynamic, and visually striking. The choreography was flashier, and the pacing kept me on edge the whole time, despite watching it at home, while I saw, obviously, the fight between Akaza and teamed up Giyuu and Tajirou in the cinema.

What stood out to me as well was the setting. The burning Yoshiwara district, with its chaotic, almost grounded atmosphere, gave the fight a gritty realism. It wasn’t as otherworldly or grand as the Infinity Fortress (hard to beat that one, lol), but that’s kind of what I liked for being, hmm, kinda relatable? It felt like it could have happened in a real place, if demons were real and all. That touch of grounded chaos made the whole thing hit harder for me.

to be fair tho, these guys are fighting demons not among themselves so a swordman to swordman fight could have only happened with Zenitsu-Kaigaku and Kokushibo's, if the later isn't more pretty effects parrying and clashing

noooooo, don't not let the flashy visuals distract you from some AMAZING foot works and swing works Uzui did. Even in the climax where the visuals was dialed up to eleven, there was still choreography. The part was more about the tension, but I promise there was still choreography. Try a rewatch

@Magpareddi No im not denying Tengen vs Gyutaro don't have choreography behind it im saying Akaza vs Giyu and Tanjiro had that through nearly the whole fight and had next to 0 moments with just pretty effects and random clashing.

I think people overrate s2 ep 17, Imo s2 ep 15 is far better in terms of how the fight looked. The feeling you get from s2 ep 17 is way more like intense and gripping because of how they portrayed it but s2 ep 15 had far better choreography that sequence between Uzui and Gyutaro in the later part of that episode was phenomenal and I hate that literally no one talks about it. I also hate that that episode spawned dumb mf's acting like Gyutaro and Tengen are far stronger than their counterparts. But that's a separate discussion.

Im someone who likes battle were you can completely understand both characters movements, I don't dislike battle like s2 ep 17 their awesome in their own regard and extremely pretty. But for the longest time I had Akaza vs Kyojuro as my top fight in the anime obviously now Akaza vs Giyu and Tanjiro is my favourite.

its also why I love Zenitsu vs Kaigaku and yeah naturally it makes sense we never got a proper swordfight prior, since Kaigaku is the first demon fighting with a sword we encounter in a battle.

I feel like when Kokushibo's fight gets animated it will be the perfect blend of visual beauty and proper choreography. It will be able to appeal to both sides and that's also why its highly regarded as the best fight in the story. I mean we got a vague glimpse of Kokushibo's
at the end of the first movie and it looked amazing

It does just slightly annoy me at times that people don't mention other fights in the anime or hell even earlier moments in the fight with Gyutaro. I think its a amazing fight but man people don't credit other moments enough.

Both battles were amazing, but the effects used in “Gyuu + Tanjiro vs Akaza” were much more greater than the previous one. The budget was also higher and the quality of that battle was at its best.
