| 1 trillion lions would starve within a few weeks due to the lack of food, whereas the sun still has enough fuel for a few billion years. Even with enough food, a 1 km asteroid falling on Earth would easily wipe 1 trillion lions, whereas the sun would easily wipe 1 trillion 1 km asteroids. |

| First of all let's assume the earth can't win against the sun. So the lions would have to beat the earth first. A large male grown up lion can have a mass of ~250kg. Their condition doesn't matter only the mass is relevant. Let's say you glue a trillion lions together creating a giant heap of corpses reaching a mass of ~2.5e14kg. The earth mass is 5.9722e24 so more than a billion times larger. Hence the lions lose to the earth and by assumption to the sun. Q.E.D. mfs |

| Using the estimated population and total land area of Macau — the most densely populated country in the world — as well as the size of Russia and total surface area of planet Earth, my rough calculations tell me that a trillion lions would take up about two and a half Russias if they were to be densely populated. Two and a half Russias would only take up about a small fraction of the total surface area of the Earth, so yep, the sun wins easily. ☀️ |
