 PLEASE SUPPORT THIS UPCOMING ANIMATED SHORT FILM! I am currently creating a 2D animated short film titled "Can't Help Myself' and I thought it might be something you’d enjoy. I've made some random animations for trending purposes on YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, but now I want to make a serious project and submitted it to several short film festivals in pursuit of the prize and expand my opportunities. Plot Summary: About a man who looks nervous sitting inside a moving subway. Sweating as he looked around and checked the time, tapping his fingers resting on his knees. It was unclear what was making him nervous, until, he try to pinch then pull off the knee socks of the woman sitting next to him. Meanwhile, the woman who was holding her cellphone looked at the man with a stunned expression. At the end of the story, when both of them arrive at the station and got off the subway then face each other, the woman blushed then slapped the man and left, but somehow she wasn't wearing her knee socks anymore, it was already in the man's hands. | Sooo... this story is about the weirdo pervert in us all pulling both the knee socks off a random woman on the train? I would hope there's more to it but it's already a bizarre, rapey premise lol. Even in an ecchi anime, that'd be kinda strange. Because there's an art to good ecchi and ecchi comedy stuff, regardless of what dummies will say about the genre (that's why it's not straight up porn). As such, I would hope the story for your animation is more than just some molesty fantasy. Maybe you're trying to imply she "wanted it" because she didn't stop it initially and blushed or w/e. So there's a bit of layering possible. Still.. O_o  |

| @DiscloSalilokui Honestly it's just bad writing. Because (most of) those open ended stories have more cohesion between events while still letting the user interpret things for themselves. Those good stories have more why-did as opposed to the why-would, which is "poorly written story/characters 101". Why-woulds (which are peppered throughout even this short story!) make things less or not engaging as most ppl will feel they are making excuses to explain bad story. Where why-did is more interesting (and cohesive) as this is where the reader's natural interpretation comes into play... the whole point of open-ended writing. Understanding and even making choices for the characters, rather than making excuses to explain the story. The open-ended tag just feels like an excuse to slap some scenes you wanted together even if they aren't cohesive story-telling. It's not uncommon actually. This is a frequent excuse for narrative confusion. But that's all just my opinion (I'm wrong a lot, btw) and I'm sure others will like it and appreciate it for what you had in mind! |
