| Mine is Akira Toya. His ambition and ability to read his rival's moves really impressed me. And his obsession for Hikaru worths seeing;) I also like Sai and Isumi but my absolute favorite is Akira. So how about yours? Which one do you heart most? |
| Definetely Isumi. He's a lot mature than the others and I like his style. When he failed pro exams I felt sorry for him. |

| There actually aren't any characters I actively dislike, that's rare for me for any series! But Sai is a bundle of adorable, naive of the world and its new technology, but never annoying about it. But I've gotta say, I do like Hikaru a lot, we see him grow from a kid with pretty much no ambitions to a kid that's nothing but ambition, I really enjoyed seeing his progression from "let Sai do it" to "I can't wait for me to play Go!", that's just so rare in a series for me and Hikaru no Go does it perfectly and I think Hikaru is an awesome main! Kurata-6-dan is also pretty awesome, do wish we got to see him more. |

| I'm rewatching the series now, and my thoughts on my favourite characters haven't changed for the worse. Favourite? As of now, Waya. There's nothing exceptional about him, and that's why I love him. He's the most normal, and he's likeable both because and in spite of that fact. Then there's Akira. The truth is, when I watch the show, my thoughts on him oscillate about every five minutes, but when I step back... I like his character all the more for it. It's perfectly flawed and that earns major points with me XD And of course I still love like everyone else. Haha. |

| 1. Akira, he is brilliant, hard-working, polite and confident. 2. Isumi, another calm, but kind character. 3. Sai, perfection in every possible way. And many, many others. This show has a lot of great characters. |

| Ogata ^_^ People see him as creepy, but IMO he's just a sociopath who cares more for Go than he does human being, and will do anything to get what he wants even if his method crude and frowned upon. I find the devotion rather endearing. I suppose the obsessive behaviour perhaps stemmed from the fact that he has no rival in his generation, and a foreshadowing of some sort for Akira that if Shindou hadn't come along, he would end up more or less the same way. |
