It just feels good to have completed a lot of stuff first thing. I used to wake up around 7 weekdays, 8-9 on weekends, but since getting up early, I feel like I accomplish a lot more and am more focused. The Promised Neverland was so good! Have you been reading the manga? What would have been different if you watched it when you were younger?

Me? I don't think so. I am not bad, but not good either. I can run at a decent enough pace, but really want to get a lot better there. Are you?

Yay! Glad he had fun :3 Me? Not really, but I made myself one. If I want to reach my goals, got to work for them, are you a morning person? Anything is fine with me! Anything on your mind in particular? Have you been watching anything as of late?
Kagura_Tennouzu Jul 21, 7:16 AM
Yeah! I've been learning Latin from a friend and there are just some things that don't have a direct translation to English. I'm glad you enjoy learning languages because you're right and English is pretty universal it seems.

Happy late birthday to your brother! Did he have a good birthday? :3 I think it will change with time. My BFF has a younger sibling that was similar when younger and now that she is older, they get along really, really well and do almost everything together. Younger sibling was annoying because she just wanted my friend's attention, but didn't know how to articulate it her wants until she was older. (and she didn't care about more serious stuff until she was in her mid teens).

It sounds like a nice, relaxing routine imo, but I love structure and knowing what I am going to do. I try to make my day following a schedule as best as I can. For me? I wake up at 05:00 to run 20 miles, go to work, come home to hang with friend/cook dinner(they are a lousy cook so I make their food), second work out while watching anime, some cleaning, reading, and catching up with friends until midnight and then sleep. Sometimes we'll do something else during the work week, but we're both pretty dedicated to our fitness so it's hard to deviate too much. Weekends are a bit more free, but I normally end up hanging out with that friend and their parents and doing fun stuff :3

I have two siblings and am the eldest (unless we count my two older half siblings, but they were never around growing up and are like 20 years older than me). My baby sister is 10 years younger than me and my middle sister used to hate me, but we're really good friends now :3

I suppose I am the odd man out then, because I think English can be very beautiful. But if I had endless free time and money, I'd probably spend a good chunk of my time learning different languages. I am also an easily pleased person who looks for joy in even the tiniest of things. I can see that happening. My friend will sometimes say something in another language they know because they say it just fits what they wanted to say better or their train of thought wasn't in English.

I think people can get used to any situation the longer they are in it. Some things are harder to adapt to than others. But life carries on and you have to make do as they say. I'm a lot better about that now. I used to be quite the softie and was always really worried about things that I had no control over which is honestly draining. But like yourself, I kind of hate myself for it because I worry I have become less empathetic. I am guessing you are fairly close to your brother, have you two always been close?

What is your day to day life like in Germany? Is it different from back home?
Kagura_Tennouzu Jul 17, 9:05 PM
Oh! All lovely choices! Just saying what I believe to be the truth :3 Russian is such a beautiful language! My friends knows it and I have had the pleasure of listening to Eugene Onegin in Russian and wow~ I read it in English, but it just isn't the same. I am lame and just know English, a smattering of Spanish and am currently learning Latin from the same friend. I really wish I knew more, though ^^' Is it odd to think in a language other than your mother tongue?

Hm, you're right, it is all about perspective so I guess depending on who you ask, nothing is ever really selfless, but as long as you are happy and at peace with your choices, I believe that is the most important thing and how I personally try to live my life. No regrets and trying my best to be kind and good to all I meet. I am the same way when it comes to overthinking things. A lot better than when I was younger, but I still find myself wondering if I said the right thing more often than not. May we both be free of the burden of anxiety one day :3

Oh yeah, I would not want to live that close to occupied territory either. It would be a constant worry of wondering if and when things would go sour. Moving to another country is hard, but there are talks of Ukraine being a part of the EU which would make it a lot easier if successful, right? :3 I don't think patriotism is bad - loving your country and wanting the best for it/wanting to work to make it a better place to live is a good thing imo. I think the problem starts when patriotism becomes nationalism and you blindly follow whatever it is your country is doing because it's your country and you feel you are superior just for where you are born. It's hard because the line can be easy to blur if one is not careful. Like I love the US, but will admit we have a lot of problems that we need to address and we are far from perfect. But I suppose it is moreso I love the people I know here and that is what really fuels me as I don't really get attached to places (moved a lot when I was a child), but people.

Aw! That is so sweet of you and utterly adorable. What shows do you know he'll love? :3 I would have honestly assumed your native language was English from how well you command it honestly.

I don't think that is selfish - selfish would be if you expected something in return or the person being grateful to you. Wanting to see human suffering end because it is painful for you to watch is rather selfless most would say and means you are very empathetic. The reward is the action itself and hoping to make the world a better place, right? Mind my asking why it was liberating? What country do you want to move your family to and why? I know a bit about current affairs in Ukraine (my understanding is the economy is not in the best shape, Russia is being well Russia, and the current president Zelensky hopes to fight against fraud), but my college professor turned friend always speaks fondly of it as it is her home country. She also lived there during Soviet times, though, so it has been a while and she only goes home to visit on rare occasions.

You can set up a stream online if you two are able to get a time slot that works for both of you :3 I've done it with friends before. I hope you get to spend tons of time with loved ones when you return.

It's okay to stray away from your faith. I personally think faith is something you can reevaluate throughout your life. I was a much more hardcore atheist when I was younger, but am much more open to believing there is a higher power now as an example. Personally, I think rethinking your values/motivations in life is a good thing to do occasionally, we grow and change as people as we age. I've been through a lot of stuff in the past two years that has rather changed some parts of me and what I thought I was going to do in life. What's your new life goal versus your old one if you don't mind talking about it?
LouizHenrii Jul 16, 10:35 AM
No problem, thanks for the request.

I am glad you are enjoying your time there :3 I grew up surrounded by nature and now live in an area with a lot less and kind of miss it. So are you kind of like a live in nanny/maid? That's pretty cool! What do you plan to do when you return home?

Hm, I believe in Pascal's Wager so kind of? (Basically, believing in God is the most rational thing to do since doing so nets you heaven if he does indeed exist while not doing so sends you to Hell) I was raised in an extremely Catholic household as well so that might have something to do with it. What about you? Any reason for asking or asking for discussion's sake? :3

Wow! How are you enjoying Germany? I assume you are studying there :3 Do you miss your family/friends back home? When I moved far away, I did for a bit, but am used to it now.

Also, to answer your prior question about my thought on happy endings - while they are nice, they are not necessarily needed to make a story good. Life isn't all roses and butterflies after all, but I like balance. I don't like needless tragedy for tragedy's sake, but understand that sometimes things don't end the way we want them to - all depends on the journey of how we get there and how it fits in with the rest of the story if that makes sense. What about you?
Kagura_Tennouzu Jul 14, 11:25 AM
Hi! It's been a while. How are you? Hope you have been well! Life has been a little hectic for me, but looks like things have finally calmed down to allow me enough time to properly respond to people. (And hopefully MAL doesn't crash for months again ^^')

No problem, nice to see someone else that appreciates Laputa. Probably the greatest anime movie I've ever seen
