Possible release time?

The preceeding time is spent hiring, scripting, storyboarding, getting airing and marketing agreements, scheduling, and so on, with only a small group doing PV animation and KVs early. The announcement for the first season of most shows takes place 1/2 to 2/3 of the way through production, so usually about a year to a year and a half in advance.

So the real question is how far into S1 was S2 greenlit. If S2 was greenlit at the start of the project, then it could have released as little as three months after the first season ended. If it was greenlit shortly after S1 ended, then the process starts from the beginning and it takes three years (or more, depending on staff availability).

Jigo ended at the start of Summer 2023. That means that if S2 was greenlit at that very moment then it should show up summer 2026. If it was done earlier, then it will arrive earlier. The fact that we are over a year with no announcement suggests that it was NOT greenlit early in preproduction, and a later timeframe release is more likely.
