A leaker said it was primary going to air in Winter 2024, but because some production issues, it has been postponed. So I don't think it will be more than 3-6 months from Winter. So expect it on Spring or Summer season

Off topic but I could have sworn they had already confirmed this before the show aired?

The Jigokuraku anime, like the manga, was visually stunning with an interesting cast, but the story doesn't engage me enough to rate it very high.
If I have to wait another year for more, I might not watch it until the entire manga has been adapted (even if two certain favourites of mine (seen briefly at the end of the final episode) will be making their debut).

Well they said they're gonna take their time to cook this and not make a mess like s1. Kaori Makita is a talented director but she couldn't do anything because they had to pump out 12 episodes in 4 months.

Guessing Summer 2024 because Oshi no Ko aired at the same time as Hells Paradise and it was announced that Oshi no Ko season 2 will be released summer 2024 so that’s my guess

@LieutenantPanda8 I don't think it will even release in Fall 2024. I'm guessing Winter 2025

@Anime_Skaddiel How is it possible that the production of Hell's paradise lasted 4 months, if they announced it in February 2022 and released the anime in April 2023?

@Zeekto I don't know how you can say it was good, when all the anime production was poor with a lot of problems during the episodes

@Leon888 Anime production takes three years, but the part where they actually draw and record everything takes about four months. The preceeding time is spent hiring, scripting, storyboarding, getting airing and marketing agreements, scheduling, and so on, with only a small group doing PV animation and KVs early. The announcement for the first season of most shows takes place 1/2 to 2/3 of the way through production, so usually about a year to a year and a half in advance.

So the real question is how far into S1 was S2 greenlit. If S2 was greenlit at the start of the project, then it could have released as little as three months after the first season ended. If it was greenlit shortly after S1 ended, then the process starts from the beginning and it takes three years (or more, depending on staff availability).

Jigo ended at the start of Summer 2023. That means that if S2 was greenlit at that very moment then it should show up summer 2026. If it was done earlier, then it will arrive earlier. The fact that we are over a year with no announcement suggests that it was NOT greenlit early in preproduction, and a later timeframe release is more likely.

You forget the aspect of how this production will probably be rushed like Season 1

i doubt that’s the case as the manga is roughly 120 chapters.

@CleansedSpace I doubt it will end with S2 if it's gonna be the same length as the first season. However, if season 2 will consist of circa 24 episodes, then yeah, it should be enough to cover all remaining chapters of the manga.

As for the possible release time, I have fingers crossed to see it released sometime in 2025. But truth to be told, it's hard to tell. There haven't been any news regarding the release date, no?

With JJK messing Mappa up so bad/exposing how messed up Mappa had become I wonder what the status of this project is. It probably wasn't quite in a state to fall off the rails but it couldn't have been helped either.

considering it is October 2024, autumn, with no update it's safe to assume it'll be mid next year or hopefully soon after.
