let's hope the narrative gets back on track. the spin off was nice, but the second half of season 1 really killed a lot of my enjoyment for it. that king boss fight saved the show from me giving it a 6.

Was the spinoff not also a continuation of the story? In that it literally covered Bojji's tenure as King ensuing Season 1, reunion with Kage and them subsequently setting out for a journey and stumbling upon Despa with his memories erased. It also covers Despa's story which led to this, set up in Season 1's finale, and the resurrection of Ouken. There obviously isn't enough source material for another full season, hence why they made this spinoff. I'm baffled that you're complaining about it, to be honest, given that the side stories that were included were really enjoyable, with stellar art and animation to boot, and developed the main story even more.

The spinoff was a partial continuation of the story if I recall correctly?

Yeah the very last episode, the first 90%...not so much

They have enough content for 1 arc, so maybe they are adaptating it in one movie.(and the arc itself feel like a sub-story)

Let's just pray that it's not another recap movie but considering how poor the 2nd half was perhaps a recap wouldn't be the worst.
