It's because of a lot of cut content in the original adaptation

They butchered the animation and skipped several arcs of the story, so yes, there is indeed a point to rebooting it. I didnt expect it to get a reboot when it was released only two years ago but well, its a good decision. It sells like hotcakes

i hope if it is a reboot, that they'll put more effort in.. the original felt more like a motion manga at some points :/

I hope they will only touch the story, cause I really liked that "like a motion manga" style. It was unusual, and it went well with the art and setting.

So hyped for this! Hoping they animate the arcs they skipped originally, and hopefully it'll make way for a season 2 afterwards! It would be awesome if they keep the op & ed somehow, even with some new visuals. They were both so perfect!

I’m a bit torn on this because I was a big fan of the original, but I never knew that it skipped arcs so that makes me a bit more open to the idea. I’m very happy to be getting more Hanako-kun tho, I’ll definitely be watching this when it comes out.

This i agree with as well, they were perfect. Tho I can see them using new ones to further separate this from the original.

I'm hoping that whatever they do, they don't mess it up as bad as the first season did. I'm still mad at what they did to the 4 o'clock library arc by cutting it down to fit in a single episode

I don't want a reboot but they can just make a flashback treatment for the arcs they left in this new anime and continue after that

What's wrong with that anime, did they skip manga arcs too?

They skipped a lot of arcs, that's why they are remaking it.

make sense. it's just that remake or reboot too soon during modern anime surprise me. because with other anime it took 10 - 20 years to have a reboot.
e.g: dragon quest, Urusei Yatsura, Kenshin,. those anime have their reboot like after 10 - 20 years of original version released.

why is this series getting a reboot and not Tokyo ghoul or promised neverland? Clearly those two are better and more popular...

I hope Tokyo ghoul gets a more accurate reboot. even if I do enjoy the other one even if it isn't completely accurate to the manga

I think this is the one that they want to reboot not the after school one but I dont understand why they want to reboot it, they could just do season 2 instead

Imo, I don't think it's gonna be a reboot. They skipped a few arcs in the first season; they adapted volume 1-3 and then skipped to the 7th. Volume 4-6 have some important arcs that will bring the story forwards next.
