| The main weakness of the story is how the settings and the characters just don't work well together. It's sad that Kaie died, but it doesn't make sense for everyone to be as sad as they were. Shin has seen 561 of his comrades die, and that means everyone else has probably seen at least 200 of their comrades die if not more. Their entire military experience would be a cycle of new faces who will probably die soon. The manga is fortunate that it is able to hide most of the nonsense from the light novel, but there are still things to don't make sense when actually examined. |
