| I'm pleasantly surprised by how much this series improved my opinion of it with the last half! That so rarely happens that I'm having difficulty thinking of the previous time. Usually if the first half isn't good, then the last half is unlikely to do any better, but that was not the case with "Tsukikage Baby." This is a topic discussion on the last chapter, but I do want to quickly add how much I liked all the panels that Yuki Kodama dedicated to different moments of the festival after the kiss in the previous chapter - really built up the atmosphere and gave time and space that is hard for me to describe, but that I thought wrapped up the chapter very well. Then, this last chapter continued off of that but in a very haunting way. I know it's meant to be more peaceful and even bittersweet than anything, but I still found myself being spooked a little bit. Not that that's a negative. The conclusion was better than I could've imagined. |
