Punpun-meets-bakuman, more depressing stuff.

Feels like this will be a commentary on current trend of shallow manga. He has commented that the manga industry is getting worse because the readers don't want complicated or "interesting" works, guess he will explore those ideas here.

Really looking forward to this

Is this based on Asano's own life as a mangaka? Nonetheless, it's interesting to see his take on manga industry. Togashi and HxH are mentioned?! Art is fantastic as usual. Indeed depressing stuff incoming..

I think it will explore the psychological side of the mangaka, he has commented earlier that the manga industry is getting worse because the readers don't want complicated or "interesting" works.

The manga?

Reiraku is currently being published in Big Comic Superior which is a semi-monthly magazine, according to Wikipedia anyway.

So 2 chapters per month for Reiraku.

It was great. More depression, that's my cup of tea.
Is hard not to think that this is based on his own life & experienced. I mean the character even had blonde hair in the color pages.

This chapter gives a shallow pessimistic vibe, but not a deep pessimist idea. From this chapter I see that the mangaka has finished his manga but I see he has problems with the manga being written and read in his time. For example he read the I’ll hum you a song and he gives a critique by saying the manga is “a cheap stupid story”. And earlier in the manga he says that young readers don’t read good manga and that they don’t want intellectual, complex, or interesting manga. And goes as far to say he doesn’t like manga, which from his viewpoint may be rightful to say. I can’t wait to see what I read further on as Inio asano and his realistic style really attracted me to solanin, and now I can’t wait to read his other work.
