| Looks like it finally got subs, though this wait wasn't even that bad really compared to some I've had, like a little over two weeks maybe. Really just such is the plight of the modern Sunrise mecha OVA/Movie in an era where sci-fi just doesn't have the kind of audience and extended interest it used to outside of Japan. If it weren't for them just releasing already subtitled versions of other things like Origin, Unicorn etc those would have probably been several week waits as well. I still remember waiting like literally a solid calendar year for the 2nd half of Votoms: Pailsen Files to get subtitled though it was worth it. The Yamato 2199 movie also took what must have been a month to be subtitled as well but also worth it. It's amazing how these can be such top sellers in Japan and quite popular but yet like little to nothing outside of their these days yet if it were some Light Novel Movie/OVA thing instead I'd bet on like maybe a few days tops to see subtitles. I guess we'll see what happens when some things like Date A Live The Movie comes out on BD. If that gets like even same week subtitles then I'd say yes it's the mecha/sci-fi undercurrent that runs through the community at large nowadays striking again. |
