| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Okay, sorry to bore you at the start here, but I just want to make sure that everybody knows what we are talking about here. This is the third "picture drama". It was included on the Blu-ray/DVD of Volume 4 which went on sale on March 26th, 2015. Its title is: 「はだかの女王様ファイナルエディション～少女と奇跡の石～」 but I do not know how to translate that into English. Volume 4 includes Episodes 7 and 8 from the series. Yup, makes sense. [ Note: "all-new original picture drama" = 新作オリジナルピクチャードラマ ] I checked their official website and their official Twitter account just to make sure that I am getting all of the details right here. So... we see a third "picture drama". I have no recollection of seeing picture dramas for any other series. I know that some of you have, such as "Code Geass". But this is something new and interesting to me. On the good side, this did not suffer from the excessive fanservice that we saw in the first two picture dramas. On the bad side, I felt that much less effort went into this one. Most of the time, there was very little happening on the screen to look at. So it seems like it was an afterthought taken care of by a few people. I did like seeing references to those old traditional Japanese stories. But that didn't keep me entertained too long. From looking at their official website, it is not clear to me whether or not they plan to produce additional picture dramas. Is it a good idea to produce picture dramas? After seeing three of them, now I am leaning to the point of view that I would prefer to see them make OVAs, even if fewer of them. |
| That bath scene =3 pretty decent episode. Let's see what's next. |
