Oh boy, here we go! Chapter 82 raw: http://www.mangabird.com/world-trigger-82-wt

On mangabird. Not a chinese website. Either insanity or english websites start to take more notice of WT recently. Maybe due the many updates in its translations, now up to 65?

Anyway, about the new raw:

We see people trying to save some trapped family in a destroyed house. We see somebody from Border who helps the civilians in saving those people. It looks like this guy could be Karasawa, the guy who handles foreign affairs and collects money for Border, but he looks a bit different than Karasawa for me. If he didn't grew his hair a bit and stopped having a cig all the time in his mouth then this might be a new person from Border. I could be wrong ofc.

Next scene is in the hospital where we see Osamu in a bed with some machines on it (no trion medical technology, shmae~). Chika, Reiji and Torimaru as well as Yotaro are watching him via a window. The other agents are still out in the field, rounding up the last trion soldiers, helping in rescuing people and such. We might get to see a Kitora or Konami or Jun or such visits in later chapters. Or not at all.

Yuuma isn't there because he is searching for the last remains of Replica and Jin is helping him with that search. Yuuma must feel pretty down now that he has lost his last family member so to say. :c

We get a "memory" page of Osamu, which kind of makes sense to me. This was his first real war and he had experienced Chika to be almost captured and got himself almost killed when keeping her safe. His brain was on adrenaline at that time, so now when he was recovering it worked through everything that had lead up to this point, all the stuff that made him do what he did and that got him to his current position as well as gave him the determination to risk so much for somebody else.

With this memory page we enter a flashback of Osamu, which is very nicely done ONLY from Osamu's POV. A good way to get the reader to "feel" into Osamu and imagine himself how he must have looked like or what he felt in this or that situation, instead to "show" the readers how osamu looks like or what he feels at this or that situation.

It starts again with Rinj, Chika's missing(or dead?) big brother, who tells Osamu he will be send on a mission with a new trigger. Osamu tells him that he wants to join Border, Rinji is against that.

We then have a little timejump and see Osamu walking in the rain to Chika's house. Police officers and Men in black from Border stand before the door. We get to hear about Rinji gone MIA and see Chika cry, something Osamu says he had Chika never done before.
It made his resolve to become an agent stronger and so he took a test from Border to become one.

I liked that page in particular.
No text from what Osamu says or thinks. Just what he does and sees.
So we see him and others taking a test, although it seems to be three tests in total, and him marking circles on the test sheet. Then we see the approved board of those who got through those tests. And Osamu's hand holding a number card. His number was not among those on the board. And the page ends with a little panel filled with nothing but the "despair lines" as reality crashes down on Osamu's ambition.
In other words, Osamu failed to become an agent to begin with!

What makes this page so great is that pretty much every reader can feel into such a situation where he or she took on a test or several and then failed despite doing their best. Same with next page where Osamu speaks with a Border member about his result and got told that he is "no agent material" as his trion level is too low and that he should consider becoming an Operator.

We then get to see Osamu breaking into the restricted zone of Border during the night, intended to speak with the higher ups about him becoming an agent. He runs into a Neighbor and gets saved by Jin as seen at the beginning of the manga.
Flashback ends and Osamu wakes up.

He wakes up, realizes he is in a hospital, looks around and see a sleeping Chika who had spend the night waiting for him to wake up (sooooo cuuuteee~ <3). And not only that!
Lo' and behold the bombshell Ashihara drops on us!
Here it comes!
Chika is not alone as she leans on the shoulder of a, very pretty btw, woman who turns out to be Osamu's mom and might be there to have a talk with her son and tell him to quit being a Border agent!!!!

We finally get to see some parents of Border agent teenagers and I hope she won't be the last person! With over 30 missing teens I doubt that their parents will sit quietly around, so I also expected osamu's parents to act when they heard that their son got injured in his job as Border agent despite being told that thanks to his trion body such things should not happen.

Boy, next chapter with the talk cannot come fast enough! <3

I disagree that Osamu's mother intends to try and to talk him out of being Border agent. It is hard to put in words, but, at least in my head, it seems illogical . Although mainly because i strongly believe that his personality is "because" his parents taught him that way, and not "despite".
Also, before your plot-summary i was under impression that that is Chika's mom. They do look alike (a bit). Although after second look, there is also resemblance between her and Osamu.

On other note, it's really rare for me to actually like each and every chapter of the Manga, with each chapter being (or at least that is how it feels for me) meaningful. I have not had such experience since reading FMA.

And once again, thank you for your plot-summarizing.

I thought it made sense that it as Osamu's mom due him being injured. Why should Chika's mom watch over him when her own daugther was fine and uninjured? Same with the leaving border as Osamu seems to be her only son. Losing your only son because he's too reckless for his own good must be pretty scary for a mother. And in the case of Osamu not having a father (anymore) then that thought weights even more.

Yeeeah, FMA was a great read back then~ <3
Speaking ofFMA, do you believe that Yuuma's body prevents him to be able to cry similar to Al's armor body in FMA? Like he can still eat and stuff but that's to give his inside kept away body the needed nutrients. It looks so far like he doesn't need to sleep (much) and we haven't seen him cry even after his father died for him which normally should be a pretty huge shock for a child. WOuld make it a very heartbroken scene if Yuuma finds the lst remains of Replica, hugs them to his chest and wants to cry and you see how upset his face looks but his trion body is unable to produce tears. :C

Osamu - reckless?? I hardly doubt that. He seems to be the kind of guy who thinks things through very carefully. Now, selfless - he indeed is (even if he himself does not think so). My main reasoning was that you do not grow to be the way Osamu is, without strong influence of your parent person. It's easy to be selfish scumbag and generally bad guy regardless if your parents pay attention to you, but to be selfless, kind and forgiving, you need a really good role model. And parents are the first thing that comes to mind. So i though that Osamu's mom has somewhat similar traits. I thought that she may be much more understanding and calm, despite the situation which you described (Osamu being her only son, and lack of a husband?).

As for why i though that she was Chika's mom - it was because i can not read Japanese, and they do bore a bit of resemblance. Also, as much as i like Ashihara-sensei drawing style (which is really good, and it actually was the thing that draw me to his work, in the first place) it still is drawing. So some things are not as clear as they may seem when the drawings are supported with text.

I'd say that it is possible for tirion body to emulate "crying" but it would be pointless for day-to-day activities. The only thing I can say for sure, is that it would be really strong scene IF he will cry someday.

I meant reckless in the POV of a parent.^^
I also believe that Osamu's parents had a big impact on why Osamu is who he is now. Which could explain his missing dad, expect we get to see him next chapter XD - his dad may had been a police offier for example who worked in Mikado City but lived outside of it with his family. He died doing "the right thing" by protecting other people despite being outgunned by those neighbors.
Then again his father could stil be alive and it is his mother who was his role model. Eh, we gonna see.^^

If it is Chika's mom then we should make fun how Osamu must have really impressed his "future mother in law". XDDD

If Replica IS really dead, then I can hardly imagine a better fitting situation for Yuuma to cry. :c

Just for a refresher on Chika's past (from chapter 13) like how Rinji Amatori was Osamu's tutor and also Osamu mentions in that chapter that the reason he joined border was because he was angry he couldn't do anything.

Now back to the new chapter. I really like the flashback and how it was from Osamu's POV.

And here is a quick and dirty summary of the part with Rinji.

Rinji made a deal with someone in order to get the trigger. Osamu asked if it was someone from border but Rinji just says he has to keep his collaborators identities a secret. Reiji and the collaborators were going to see what is beyond a neighbor gate. Osamu wants to also go but Reiji denies him and tell him they might die or get kidnapped and your parents would never forgive me if that were to happen.. Reiji also mentions that Osamu isn't cut out for this stuff and would just get himself killed but after thinking about it he tells Osamu to think about it carefully and they would be leaving next Saturday and to call him if Osamu though he was up for it.....except on Thursday Rinji was now missing. Later that day Osamu gets a message which Rinji had set it up to be sent if he didn't come back sand basically said sorry he tricked Osamu and to stay by Chika's side.

Anyways I really liked how the flashback ends with the first page of the manga. Really looking forward to this next arc.

Wait, you mean Rinji wasn't a Border agent but still managed to get his hands on a trigger meaning his collaboratories were/are in Border? Oh wow, this gives this chapter a whole new light. I wonder if Rinji's friends also disappeared. But how would they enter the neighborhood if they had no ship like Border? Then again Yuuma and Replica also got to Mikado city on their own so there must be a way to do that...

I just noticed, that one of the guys in suits, that came to Chika's household about issue of her brother disappearance, looks awfully lot like Karasawa.

The guy

Karasawa

And for quite awhile i had this lingering thought, that it was "Karasawa" who gave Rinji "trigger" in the first place (that unnamed "source" Rinji spoke of).

If my first statement is true, then i have a couple of "dot's" connected, and my lingering thoughts may be put in to "theory".

It all fit's well with how his character was presented thus far.

Osamu wakes up from that dream, and we get to see Osamu's mother. Can't wait for the next chapter.

did u know that in an interview daisuke sensei says that a trion organ stops developing at the age of 20 that's why border recruits young people so they can strenthen their trion organ this makes me think that osamu's trauma and near death experience will make his trion organ grow bigger

Makes sense and he'll also get a black trigger someday too, maybe if Chika's brother is alive and sacrifices himself when they meet again.

MUM = drama bomb :O
