| The real robot was Kurumi. Haru was so shocked that Kurumi died in that airplane you see in the beginning of the movie that he experienced extreme denial, he was convinced that he was a robot and that Kurmin didn't actually die. Kurumi's grandfather decided to use Q01 for robotic therapy by making Q01 the ''new'' Kurumi and try to help Haru accept the reality of what actually happened. When the grandfather says to Q01 ''Please save that child'' he is actually referring to Haru. |

| Really how could you not understand it? It was all explained in the movie. You know the part where the guy says, "Hal thinks he's a robot". And then turns to qo1 and says save that child and then it cuts to hal. Then it shows karumi with robot parts. |

| But what about that scene towards the beginning when the doctor says to QO1 "Become Hal. Save that child." Was that just fake to trick us? Did the doctor and everyone stage that to go along with Hal thinking that he was a robot? Was that just a false memory created by Hal (to explain why he thinks he's a robot) that happens to be exactly what occured when the doctor has QO1 become Kurumi? |

The doctor does say to Q01 to save that child which refers to haru. But I'm not too sure about the second part. You might be right, it might be a false memory only made by haru. |
