| When the movie "Kotonoha no Niwa", directed by Shinkai Makoto, was shown in theaters in Japan, the short anime titled "Dareka no Manazashi" (Someone's Gaze), which lasts 6 minutes and 40 seconds and directed by Shinkai, was also shown. This was a commercial for "Proud", an apartment brand of real-estate developer Nomura Fudousan. On September 5th, the commercial was uploaded to YouTube on the Proud Channel. Previously in 2011, Shinkai made two short anime commercials for the construction company Taisei Kensetsu, but these commercials were much shorter at just 30 seconds long. From the description of the YouYube video, the synopsis is given as: The stage is set at near future. Okamura Aya, also known as "Aachan", started to live by herself as she started a new job after graduation. Her mother needed to go overseas to work as a doctor, so now only her father and a cat, Miisan, live in a Proud apartment. Since Aachan moved out, her father has been trying to reach out to her but somehow there is an awkward gap between the two. And the cat Miisan, which Aachan has kept since she was a child, is getting old... One night, Aachan came back from a tiring day and threw herself on the bed. She closed her eyes and remembered the happy days she spent with her parents and when Miisan came to comfort her when she got lonely after her mother left.... And then the phone rang... Veteran seiyuu Hirano Fumi (Lum from "Urusei Yatsura") handled the narration. | So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |
