This Nagano character is pretty hilarious.

Seeing Yama degenerate to that state is really sad stuff.

Love this manga.

I'm glad that Kiyoharu and Azumi didn't react flustered or in an immature way when he asked them about having had sex; otherwise this sad moment would've been ruined.

Since Kiyoharu is already 19, Yama must really be dying soon. I wasn't sure whether he would stay alive till the end of the manga as a source of emotional support (like Kiyoharu & Azumi wanting to dedicate some victory to him) or if he'd die along the way, passing on Tora's will as his legacy.

I'm really happy that Inoue sensei decided to go with this very realistic approach instead of sugarcoating and idealizing the dying Yama as some sort of saint who still clings to those idealistic beliefs without ever looking the other way.

I think Inoue sensei also did a great job of conveying Kiyoharu's powerlessness and frustration with the disease and himself, seeing as he naturally failed to cheer his friend up.

I really like Mitsuru! Seeing his guts influence those around him into accepting his presence was really inspiring and Kiyo had found the perfect person to help him maintain the Tigers' legacy.

The day Yama's body ceased to be his own had finally arrived and being that far into the disease was too much to bear even for someone like him. Everything he once loved and talked about so happily was now met with dismissal with an air of hopelessness. Kiyo might've gotten a new teammate but he ended up losing a friend as well.

Looks like Takahashi's going to have to ditch his rank system because his new handlers look like they'll be less than tolerant this time around.

Wow this chapter made me weep. Peak stuff.

Kudos to Inoue for not adding any silly comedic bit when Yama was yapping about sex. Seriously heavy moment that doesnt need to be interrupted.

Seeing Yama, who debuted as a strong character who didnt think much of his illness, in such a state of depression was such a REAL moment. I cant imagine dying in such a slow process at a young age, nor do I really want to. Yama doesnt maintain an optimistic attitude all the time...every man has his breaking point after all. It reminds me of how people are post-surgery aswell. Sometimes when people get a heart transplant, they feel alienated from their own bodies since that's not their heart. This results in a downhill state of depression.

This manga is fucking awesome, love how realistic it is. I'm not disabled or anything, yet I can still relate to this piece.

"I hate the disease that's doing this to him...I hate it with all of my heart".
man.
