| Cried as the Usopp pirates were getting ready to take over his role. Despite the anti-climatic fights all around, basically both Jango and Kuro dancing around for a handful of episodes before getting one shot, this arc was great. And speaking of that, I've constantly mentioned it, but yes, the slope could've gone faster, but at the same time it was packed full of meaningful development to the story and characters. Luffy said something along the lines of "The only time someone should give up the name of a pirate is when he dies", which goes along with the themes as long as we consider pirate as being insert any ambition they feel strongly about. Then later we get the crushingly heart warming scene where Usopp disbands the Usopp Pirates in which we get a very similar "Swear you'll follow your paths and never let the fire of your ambitions go out!". I was hesitant about Usopp when we first met him, but this arc has sold me on him to an extreme level. His back story, the way he acts, everything about him is inspiring as hell. The way he told the Usopp pirates to not even tell the village what they did shows just how selfless he is. I absolutely loved how Luffy sold his point about how you should treat your friends by teaming up with Zoro to tell him "What're you talking about? Get on already", and "We're friends now, aren't we?". This is the best shounen I've watched, it may not be perfect, but this starting arc even tops Dragon Ball's, which was my favorite up until now. If I had to recommend any anime for a child to watch, it would be this. Not even just a child, because I'm loving it immensely, but the amount of good morals, and life lessons you learn while watching such a well written journey around the world is both enlightening and fun. And I would argue it's much better to emulate any of the main cast other than Nami, but who would even emulate Nami, than someone like Goku for instance. |
| That was a nice and touching ending. Finally this arc is over, it was pretty okay overall. Captain Kuro survived, so I'm wondering if we'll see him again in the future. |

| Luffy saw through Kuro's trick after seeing it so many times and ended up knocking him out once and for all with an iron headbutt. Zoro and Usopp defeated Jango with teamwork and an assist from the kids. The reason why Usopp was the boy who cried pirate was more tragic than I thought... At least we got to know where his nose came from. The kids carrying on their former captain's antics for him to live on in the hearts of the villagers was heartwarming too. Kaya gives them the iconic Going Merry as a token of thanks and the Straw Hat Crew invited Usopp over to join their journey to the Grand Line. Kaya should've gave a farewell kiss on the cheek for Usopp~ |

| Mad respect for Usopp. The village needed and wanted him as part of their community, this warmed my heart. Haha those kids' life goals. Awesome, we now have Usopp and a ship now! |
