Come on, not using the philosopher's stone is sooo dumb. So you're not gonna use it at all and let all these lives sacrificed for it go to waste? Rather sacrifice your ability to use alchemy and stop helping people with it? ._.

Right? At least use it to give Roy his sight back and heal everyone's injuries lmao.

What a great way to end this battle... it all makes sense for Ed to trade in his alchemy powers for his brothers body. I liked Hohenhiam a lot man, but I guess it was time for him to go as well.

You can't give justice to this anime in words, honestly it's a one of a kind.

I guess Edward could have given up his alchemy at any time and gone to get Alphonse' body back, but just wasn't aware he could've make such a trade. And a good trade it was, having saved the entire country, his alchemy was needed no more. Besides, if he had done this earlier, who knows if Amestris would've been saved. Armstrong does come to tell Hohenheim that without his sons, the country would have been doomed, and he is probably right.

Speaking of Hohenheim, we get a touching, very bittersweet moment at the end there as we all know, but I'm left wondering why he dies there. Is it because he no longer has a philosopher's stone in him? He did give that up at some time during the battle, right? Tbh philosopher stones still confuse me on what exactly they are and what they can do. But I won't dwell on that too much. Hohenheim passed with a smile on his face, and didn't have to be used as a sacrifice to save Al, and thus got to hear Edward call him "father" at least one last time.

Rest easy Hohenheim, you redeemed your fatherhood and not only that you were willing to sacrifice yourself for your son. Luckily bad lad Edward knew the score and got that shit on lock.

I never would have expected to feel for Greed by the end of the series
Even the previous episode had me really surprised with how much character development this guy had -- plus his English VA is amazing

Also, I guess since Hoenheim was nearing his end anyway, Edward could have just used him as a sacrifice to bring Alphonse back, but at least this way Alphonse got to actually see his father again as a human

Edwards character development is so well shown and its is so real in terms of how a child turns into a man. This show is perfect.

Ed finally calls Hohenheim (baka) oyaji T__T Al finally gets his body back T__T they're both free of alchemy stuff... AND.... Hohenheim finally died... in front of Trisha's grave... he breathed his last breath calmly and smiling... to be honest I almost cried because I wanted Hohenheim to "raise" Ed and Al... to make up for the time he couldn't give his children, but death is inevitable, he should have died a long time ago, it was very sad but touching that he could die in front of the grave of the person who made him feel alive and loved as a human being T___T rest in peace, Hohenheim... Ed and Al will live very well as ordinary people after this...

No not Greed! Not Greed! His sacrifice was just powerful to watch and then not too long after and Ed just managing to get Al’s body back by breaking down the two truth doors. But things got really emotional for me as I then witnessed Hohenheim literally died after the fight with Father and literally at Trisha Elric’s grave as well. God so much happened here, so much happened here altogether.

It’s not quite the finale but to me it’s the end to the overall series, the last episode obviously is going to be an epilogue to this truly epic fight for survival right here. Feels weird seeing Al with his body again rather than seeing him with his armour which is what I’ve been used to seeing him in but at the same time I’m glad he’s got his own body back in the end.

Great episode and what a finish to this already awesome series of fights in this part of the show. Unbelievable just unbelievable is all I can say about all this. Just incredible.

This episode was very emotional. I am sad in knowing that the next episode is the final episode but grateful that the brothers' journey is almost at an end.
