| Among friends who got into anime in the early 90s and fucking stuck around through the mid-2000s, there were always a few titles that seemed to pop up everywhere. Shit that aired on TV, dumped in the theaters, or even got passed around on VHS bootlegs. During the holiday season, a few of my close friends were all hanging out in my mancave while we were drinking beers and playing a few games of poker. When one friend suddenly went on a fucking half-drunk, “based” rant about anime. He claimed that anyone who got into this shit in the early 90s and wasn’t hardcore fans of certain franchises, that they were all just “uncultured fucks!” (He was obviously fucking joking). Then he started blurting out a shitload of random fucking titles (probably like a list of over 50 lol). I laughed so fucking hard I almost sprayed my beer everywhere. lol I found this statement kind of amusing considering they threw out over two dozen titles that weren't even actually officially available in the west at the time, unless one was extremely plugged into the western VHS bootleg scene between the early 90s to the early 2000s. lol  But there was still a consensus. We all pretty much agreed if someone hadn't watched shit like "Dirty Pair", "Bubblegum Crisis", "Slayers", "Project A-Ko", "Initial D", The original "Hellsing", "Ikkitousen", "Najica Blitz Tactics", "Agent AIKa", "Kiddy Grade", etc... at least a few times, they would be considered a total outsider in our circle. lol TL;DR: Just to make shit inclusive for those without a real-life crew... what fucking anime do you find most common among your friends, either IRL or online? Shit that is constantly talked about, rewatched, and obsessed over. |

| Not really a specific one I can think of since they are more of TTRPG and gaming nerds. But with one of my best friends, I have Natsume Yuujinchou and Ghibli movies in common and she doesn't even watch much anime. Guess most of them know Dungeon Meshi too. |
