| I wasn’t expecting the special episode to focus on Natori’s backstory. A yokai attaches itself to his arm after he tries to stop it from possessing his classmate. With Matoba’s help, Natori manages to get rid of the yokai. We also get to see how he first met his shikigami, Urihime. Overall, it was another beautiful episode, as expected from this series. |
| Man i didn't expect much from a bonus episode but this was actually really good, a Natori backstory episode made me wish he had his own spinoff show one day, learning how close to Natsume his childhood had seemed,lonely and with trust issues, the banter with Matobe was great too they have such synergy as friends Welp i guess we're waiting years again for a new season, will be dearly missed especially with how little animes like Natsume actually release nowadays. Solid 7.5/10 close to an 8. |

| This wasn't about natsume, it's a backstory of Natori Shuuichi's school days, how he get Urihime one his three familiars youkai and first one. He had a nostalgic flashback watching Nyanko Sensei getting tangled up in the bush and that's how he first met Urihime. |
