When Escher started to sing out of tune about eating pancakes with all the people I cracked down laughing, this is one of the many scenes that I love about this series, so funny and the art style is so good.

How long the fight would have lasted if Lloyd didn't want to take him alive? Cause that fight took what 3-4 episodes? lol. Anyway hopefully those new characters shown in the last scene means there will be a sequel soon

As much as I really liked this season, I still slightly prefer the 1st season more. This season was definitely more serious and was more action heavy, while the 1st learned more into comedy which I believe works a little better imo. However as a main antagonist, Guitane was a lot more interesting than "Jade"

Also minor note: I found it weird with the over usage of steam in the hotspring scene at the end. Didn't season 1 have some really spicy scenes ? So why the change ?

Anyways 7.5 for me

My brain started to filter out Escher's singing some point throughout the episode. I get it's holy and is a major part of the plot, but holy shit man, I don't need to listen to it for an entire episode.

Guitane is definitely one of the more interesting characters throughout thus far, and him not being killed off is definitely a win for my books.

A minor nitpick (or a hot take) is how Lloyd's engagements gets boring after awhile, to a point where I would even say that the fights from Sylpha, Tao and the others are more interesting

First half of this season 9/10, last couple episodes 6/10. The background sound was so horribly annoying I wasn't even able to properly pay attention to the fight scenes. (I think that singing effects made it worse).
And the way they tried to build fake suspension by hinting that his cold blast might cause collateral damage was just meeh....

and with that, this season ends, good season I liked it, from the start where we see Lloyd vs jihriel to the end seeing Lloyd vs gittan

the fight was more like gittan remembering his sins and why didn't god help him when his family died, he looks like someone who is lost the fight with his mind and js throwing his feelings at everything but looking fir the reality, a great fight that shows u how someone who is broken can do everything but fixing himself with reality

and they chosen Escher to be the next pope, she didn't believe it and I think that is so random

with that this ep really deserves 4 / 5 and the season is getting a 7, it was a good funny and light with great draw and animation

Dunno why, compared to the first season, I don't really like this season.

Maybe the long arc made me bored. While the singing is good, it becomes annoying fast. The studio did a great job to make viewer understand how the pope was tortured in the basement lol.

Overall is good, I hope the make it more like first season again if they intend to make next season.

Not enough Tao looking for hotties or Sylpha getting dressed this time round.

Cast got too big to focus just on Loyd. And holy god above what the hell was the pork man side story that was the oddest thing if seen on screen. The title of the ep was battle above the clouds then had 10 mins of a weird pigman that wanted to be eaten and taste good WTF. Too many big flashy spells.

The fact that Pope fully understands he's the underdog in the fight from the jump.

The fact that he understands Lloyd's plan for the final attack and wants to foil it by not leaving himself open to purification,
"If rather die than..."
*See the impending attack*
Puts all defenses at their max and damn near starts praying. 🤣

The Luma Maxima vs Luka Maxima finish with Lloyd's practically screaming "We are not the same."

The poor priest breaking his own beloved vase for the gag.

Saria and Lloyd with a respect for each other's obsessions.

So many great parts. Very nice season.

In the end I didn't care about anything anymore: the chatter, the conversations, out of tune singing, meanignless flashbacks of characters, the silly "bad characters who are actually a little good and turn into mist" - show had everything except the well-thought-out plot. It's surprising because s1 was pretty good.

I have no problem giving this a 2/5.

Escher needs to shut the hell up forever. Zip her lips eternally.

la la la na na na is not a god damn song. it's noise. and her becoming the focal point was god awful.

Lloyd finally mastered the triple cast kamehameha which was cool. for the entire 30 seconds it happened.

Overall. Awful compared to season 1.

Redemption arc s3 needed.

Not surprised to see the tik-tok-level attention span responses here, although I will agree on some things, they really did Escher dirty with that song, I had hoped they used a better one, but oh well, let's hope her next song delivers.

I wasn't expecting that teaser at the end, I wonder if it's to tease a Season 3, or for people to get curious and lure them into the manga, I'm fine with either, specially now that the manga is back from a long break.

I'd say the season was alright, I feel it still has many of the issues S1 had, thanks to being an adaptation, made more apparent since this arc was longer, thus a lot of small moments and such were removed or changed. I still liked it overall, Guitane being one of my favorite characters was nice, didn't expect his VA to grow on me that much, but it did.
