What I like the most are:
having freedoom and independence of upgrading my pc at my own pace and swapping parts individually

Steam discounts

full game ownership of having ability to play single player games offline and also with gog galaxy no drm able to install games locally

best game preservation platform, thanks to gog no drm but also steam knowing they created infinite money glitch they will be way longer than both playstation and xbox, also thanks to the microsoft compatibily support I can run games for example of late 90s 2000s as many times as I want on current era pc as they were originally intended to be running natively on the hardware

Squeezing pc hardware performance by overclocking the pc compoments via bios

Having ability to tweak graphics setting to my own liking

Don't have to wait for the game devs to fix up the game if there is a pc port left to be desired quality and I just can install community made patch fix with the simple matter of drag and drop to the correct file thus making the port flawless

Also ability to remove censorship when visual novels are usually censored on steam with community made patch fix which then brings back the removed content

pc exclusive/focused genres like large part of fps, sandbox, rts, 4x

VR gaming

I like that my old games just work. Even if they have outdated DRM that prevents me from playing the original release I can just drop a crack in the install folder. The oldest thing I managed to get working natively on Windows 11 is the Warcraft 2 map editor which is remarkable. I couldn't get Warcraft 2 proper running though as it requires MS DOS but installing Dosbox is ridiculously easy.

@Theo1899 Microsoft backward compatibilty is truly impressive, I run lego racers an abandonware game releasead in 1998 which was never re releasead on modern consoles nor steam yet I can still play on win11 pc without any issues as if this was new game, running natively on the hardware.

because pc is not just for gaming but for general use too like you can troubleshoot android smartphones by using a pc

also people do love pc gaming because of mods and emulators and as you said cheaper games that includes free versions like piracy

I love being able to get games for cheap, or even (legally) for free. I love not having to pay to play online. I love being able to use almost any controller to play my games.

The fact that many of them are moddable. Doom and Elder Scrolls literally have decades worth of mod content.

My choice would be the ease of piracy and emulation. It helps getting dlc for free in this era.

You mean compared to console gaming?

PC gaming is much more customizable.
No, this isn't my signature.

I guess the obvious answer would be is that they are upgradable, no need to replace the whole thing unless it's giving out on you in general.

I like that I can use a mouse and keyboard. It's so much easier for me than playing on PS.
