Isekai Mokushiroku Mynoghra: Hametsu no Bunmei de Hajimeru Sekai Seifuku Episode 8 Discussion

I'm starting to question if this anime is a dark isekai or a comedy one. I think the direction isn't doing a good job by mixing comedy, adventure and terror. We see in the last scenes Atou and her real personality having fun talking about the medics and their truly characteristics. After this, we see the medics protagonyzing a brutal scene, killing those men and removing their skin. But in the last scene, we see the major peeing herself and an entire comedy scene.

Particularly, I believe this episode would be better if it ended in the dark theme. Mynoghra isn't a good civilization. They are evil!

I know Takuto said times and times again that this world is not a game, despite that I can't help but thinking that he still think of this world as just a game, even if it's not the same one he used to play though.

@Rezete_01 The show's intent to go with alternating tones have been clear from the start (Just look at Atou Fangirling every given chance lol). I personally find this kind of varying tension just as entertaining as one that just stick to one (Overlord pulled off nicely what this show seems to be doing now). The show's also doing okay in terms of transition between the moods. The characters were established enough at their introduction so when they suddenly pull out their weird quirk, it flows normally in the story.

I won't be repeating what other replies pointed out with them being evil as it's already a well established fact.

My only qualm with this show is it lacked budget to convey a proper "impact" especially to seasoned viewers like us.

@EienGem yes but the overlord anime is toned down a lot.

@EienGem Well, the tone shifts in this one a mostly humorous, nothing like the trauma inducing ones in WorldEnd: What do you do at the end of the world? Are you busy? Will you save us?

If you want to see copious amounts of gore, dismemberment, and body horror, along with superb world building, artwork, OST, and very good story telling and characterization, watch Made in Abyss. It will engage you far more than this one can.

I would be very difficult to list how you are whipped from one emotion to another in that show. It has near every contracting emotion you can imagine writing. Love, despair, purpose, joy, cuteness, fear, hope, trauma, grief, beauty, horror, often delivered like a asteroid impact.
