Kijin Gentoushou Episode 16 Discussion

I'm quite disappointed that Jinya is now slaying demon without doing investigation or interrogation first. But at least the author is kind enough to make him not being the one in the wrong side here. But please don't do it next time.

That explains who the kid in the OP is, I don't think I've seen a major character development since ep6.

What with the animation drop?


Maybe they over-estimated the budget and time for a back to back cour?

I actually wasn’t very into this one, mainly because it was obvious from the beginning that this was all some alternate world and Yunagi wasn’t real, I was pretty much just waiting for Jinya to realize what’s going on and break out of it. I also didn’t care much for Yunagi as a character, so her departure at the end didn’t make me feel anything, but I did like the aspect that Jinya was seeing this as the life he could have had with Shirayuki, that made all this feel cathartic in a way.

But one thing was real in this illusionary world, and it was the baby (I thought the baby was kinda ugly tho lol), Jinya came out of this with an actual daughter, I was hoping this was through Ofuu or someone else but adopting an abandoned kid is nice too, I’m looking forward to seeing how she becomes part of this story.

@TheColonel76 Fr, we’ve known for a while that he somehow “had a kid” and the new opening shows it too but this wasn’t really what I was thinking either.


I’m still crossing fingers for Ofuu, I don’t mind if she doesn’t end up paired with Jinya, in fact it might even be better if she doesn’t. But I gotta say that she’s probably my favorite character in this show alongside Akitsu, I really hope she plays an important role somewhere going forward.

@MewsicMagic I agree on Ofuu, she’s probably one of my favorites as well, she’s just so sweet and her moments with Jinya have been great, I’d also like her to be plot relevant again but I just hope it’s not because of some kind of tragedy occurring, but I wouldn’t doubt it knowing this show lol.

@TheColonel76 On the one hand I wouldn't want Ofuu to die because she's my favorite character from this show, on the other hand, if the death is actually done really well I can't exactly complain because stories can't be written well by intentionally handicapping itself by not wanting to do something.


I'm actually more interested in seeing the end of Ofuu's "father" I noticed that he clearly has more wrinkles on him compared to the last event 9ish years ago. It might just be for realism sake since nearly all characters aged a bit, but it still makes me wonder if his age is gonna get to em, or if he'll die, though I think age probably the more realistic end for him.
