Feeling like in the end it doesn't matter whether the crowd approves or not. If Oto and Lily's collaboration is on the line, that's got to be the number one concern.

For me, that was pretty much the worst episode of the entire season. It's understandable that some kind of antagonist should be introduced with Bacchus. But we're just presented with a group of 4 absolute jerks whose sole purpose is to be hated. Nobody is supposed to understand why they behave the way they do. It's just the way they are. Their so-called fanbase is presented in exactly the same way: a bunch of blind fangirls and followers who don't care about what the music of their favorite band might mean, but that the four of them are just “cool” and sexy. Nothing more!

What's more, Lilisa's sole focus is on winning the band battle and not playing on stage in front of an audience. Sure, Bacchus are portrayed as having to be defeated, but in the end Lilisa's actual desire is almost completely lost. Only in the dialog with Otoha does Lilia's original intention briefly seem to flare up again.
On the positive side, Tamaki reminds the group that it shouldn't just be about defeating Bacchhus because they're assholes, but that the music itself and playing together should be the most important thing.

Her little sister is just as exhausting. Arisu is completely unnecessary in the episode. At two points, she merely serves a strange portrayal of the typical “little possessed sister” and is otherwise nothing more than a commentator on the events that we already see.
Her only really good moment is when she stands up against the boys from Bacchus for her sister and her band, which Lilisa notices and acknowledges accordingly.

Mariko-san is a really good character. The way she “allows” Bacchus to play in her location as long as it's profitable, because she simply doesn't care who this band is, makes her a likeable character. It's also ironically funny how she tells Lilisa and the group that they should “steal their fans”.

Why are the women fans all attracted to these violent women beaters?
That's too realistic

The cliff hanger man, I wanted to hear some of the good stuff this week but looks like I have to wait. I think this is going to be the performance I've been waiting for the entire length of the show :D

Well, the big moment for our group has arrived. The arrogant villains are in place. The prejudiced audience of fangirls is place. They even laid hands on sweet Alice, the dastards!!

Snark aside, I am excited to see our ladies kick some ass.

wish the "antagonists" of this part of the story were more than just annoyances. there are other ways of creating the catharsis of overcoming an arrogant/challenging obstacle without making them one-dimensional and flat. these guys were genuienly created for the sole purpose of losing in this battle.

also, i've always thought this a lil, but lilisa just doesn't stop yelling this episode.

I had to check the demographic of this show because our new "antagonists" feel very shounen-y and to my surprise this show is seinen, apparently. You have good arrogant, pompous character and then these assholes. It hurts every time they're on screen. I'm just hoping they're not going to bring the overall score of the show down.

Next episode is the last. I'm excited for Lilisa's band's performance!

Late, but still, just some thought:

People are really mad at the bakas here. I don't care, it is kinda obvious what's coming.

But this thing here?:

Whatever Lilisa throws at the audience is one thing, but it should be crazy good to "turn on" good-girl Otoha. And it has to be very rough, as she likes it (which in turn, will make all of those "bakas" fans lose their collective s*** as well since they're all women. We see it already in the OP)

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

Wow, those creep guys are... Odd. Was a discount Giniu team introduction needed? Whatever, the girls reaction
mirrored Frieza's. Involving Alice wasn't good either and now she has been discovered by Lilisa... One thing is sure, Alice jumped to weird conclusions quickly.

At some point, it almost became a mixed situations of the first two Love Live generations ("i quit being a idol" vs "zero votes at our first live"), but glad there was no slap in the face involved. Lilisa is just the best, from extreme face reactions to her pure motivation. Probably Otoha was just putting up a act at that point to be sure Lilisa was taking everything seriously.

This episode went way too fast, and Alice is bold in not being afraid of those guys and telling it like it is. Lilisa is there for her and it's great, their manager doesn't strike as someone completely bad for not taking offense to being called loser and at this point i can see him turning on them. Now the costumes match with the ED, cool detail. To be completely honest, i was almost thinking midway through they were going to look for a singer or choose one into the already existing group. One more episode, it just couldn't end this quickly.
(save your time and don't try to comfort when i rant on casual discussion or forum games, feel free to ignore me, i won't take it personally)

A new battle of the bands, this time to gain some recognition. That boy band was so annoying, all ego just because they had fans. And honestly, they're not even that good musically. I'd like to believe that their success is only because they're good looking and have a manager who's finally starting to realize that they're not as awesome as they pretend to be.

This time, it's all about stealing those fans from them. But the girls have it tough, not only because they're an instrumental group, but also because Bacchus' fan base is totally obsessed. Still, there's no denying that Lilisa's band feels tighter than ever. The best moment had to be when Arisu stood up to Bacchus' rude insults and Lilisa came to back her up. Funny how I didn't like Arisu at first.

I hope they crush those guys no matter what the fans thought. I think the same as Otoha, no matter the recognition, they all started this because they wanted to rock.

She wanted to see more XD I guess she's getting proper street education now. And a band for Lilisa to go against conveniently strolls along. They got the smack talk but on the casual πŸ’€

These guys suck XD how dare they show up with weak music. And no respect for the music. Kick their asses 🀝 and wear masks to hide those faces. Or perform better than them since thats the bet, I guess. The girls are already scheming 🫑

Uh Otoha.. you can have fun and try to win ya know.. glad they set the record straight.

Screw these guys πŸ’€ don't touch sis.

I'm a little confused on Otoha's motivation. She only wants to play for the love of it but also agreed to the goal of playing at a huge event eventually but you can't do that without becoming popular. Why can't an event be motivated by both? Also what makes this one different from the last battle of the bands? They're challenging someone who they think is wrong and want to prove themselves right about what rock is and there's even a bet on the line. She was also fine up to the point of finding a band to battle it seemed.

Huh.. here I thought they were going to do "Live Stream" from how they were saying it before, but then later they said "posting" as in "pre-recorded video" instead, LOL.

.

TBH, still kinda funny how the whole battle-of-band is about their Band being Instrumental trying to win over Vocal.

Yet every single special scene and ED is the vocal songs, LOL

You would think it would be more apporiate if the ED is just instrumental huh.

(the series itself proves that Vocal > Instrumental)

And yup—of course they’re a bunch of assholes.
My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.
We just can’t have decent male characters in this kind of anime, huh?

It’s kind of funny hearing the VA for Bacchus’ vocalist purposely sing bad in their song.

@amlg Yeah, that was pretty yucky. I bet the author is having a bit of a dilemma watching or supervising this show.
Even the anime itself admits that vocals do matter with the OP and ED.

Lilisa's going to be torn apart in the next and final episode, will she play for the audience or play for Otoha, i.e. for herself? Idk, we'll see, one episode left, but whatever happens, it's gonna slap.
