They marketed Lookism (Korean animation) as anime and the trailers were posted by the anime account too. So does Castlevania. But why won't they consider this one as anime or at least post it in their anime account then? It gives the same vibe and artstyle as anime. Feels like a missed opportunity to attract more viewers (especially anime watchers) who don't watch K drama stuffs.

Cuz it has the K-drama type romance troupe in it and they are trying to draw in the Korean enthusiasts into the medium.

Marketing teams might be uninformed of these Anime releasing or completely ignorant about the way anime watchers like to watch, btw the same thing happened with Pluto, Good Night World and Moonrise

@TheRohanRai lol, yesterday i was watching Mad Unicorn in netflix and they accidentally pulled the show from their catalog in all regions near the end of the day the damn thing came out, maybe netflix isn't as well organized as one might think.

Good Night World despite being a fun watch its a catalogue filled, Moonrise is defently a catalogue filler type show.

This movie, i don't think so, it would suck if Netflix sees it as catalogue filler.

IDK, it's a shame cause the production of this film is immaculate. It's rare to see such a high quality animated picture.

Netflix did market the it on k-content channel. The video has close to million views.
I don’t think a lot people subscribed to k-content channel, that why there is as much talk about the movie.

what i specifically remember reading about how NF corporate structure works is WHY this movie is in 'records limbo'.

basically, they have ONE overwatch Division of Animation. this Division has TWO Sections, Foreign and Domestic. Foreign covers EVERYBODY outside of the USA. Domestic is inside the USA. Castlevania, The Witcher Movies et al is DOMESTIC even though the animation is foreign, major production writing etc. 'the big bosses' are based in Cali. etc. 'Starlight' will be FOREIGN as it is entirely ROK. Anime doesn't have a specific division inside Foreign, each COUNTRY has a national 'desk', Japan Korea etc. so... listing 'Starlight' specifically as Anime doesn't happen without two or more national desks AND the Foreign Section head agreeing, ROK, Jap, then the higher boss.

remember folks, the movie has barely been out for two days. oopsies will happen and be ironed out eventually. plus, this IS NF's first all ROK animated movie. they may not HAVE a technically correct niche to list it as.
just an ol school American otaku enjoyin the life. don't sass me kiddies, i've been otaku probably since before you were born. leave me in peace and i won't bother you either.

This is likely more of a draw for Kdrama fans than anime fans, especially with the female lead Korean voice actress being one of the most popular Kdrama actress over there, she even won best actress award in Korean for this year and AFAIK this is her first voice acting work.
