it has similar art style but it's not Ghibli. it's much better than most Ghibli imo, at least the manga

The thing about Ghibli most of their works have the feeling we have seen this before, like copy-paste kind of stuff. Especially Miyazaki movies.

It's my favorite Miyazaki work, even though it's about as old I am. Ghibli wouldn't exist if not for this film, and it was a testament to what was to come.

i agree with the manga being better, but it also has like 5x as much content as the movie so its not really a fair comparison

that's fair but because of that I can't rate a movie that highly as it doesn't tell the real story.
