I'm fine with it. It's about the ongoing of Orario and the dungeon. The only thing I don't get is why Freya is so desperate about Bell that she's willing to change everything for him. Even if it means to turn the city against her. I feel like I missed something there.

This is not the direction I thought they were gonna take Freya based on season 1. I'm just happy we're done with the worst part of this arc I guess.

Not all relations are healthy and Freya x Bell is definitely not healthy.

Do i need to remind that
?

Her goal is definitely to get her hand on the toy of her heart be it by mentally crushing him or brainwashing thousands of people.

About the underdog's arise. Bell and his friends are now literally facing one of the strongest (if not the strongest) goddess that's mighty enough to take control over a whole city in the blink of an eye. If taking that goddess' plans down isn't heroic then what do you think is heroic ?

Press on and push for episodes 8 (the end I think) on, it starts getting better.

Freya familiar’s training seems to be strength through adversity and fighting, even injuring and nearly murdering each other, so them putting down Bell for being, in their eyes weak, does not seem odd to me.

Freya being fake Syr, makes sense why she would fall in love with Bell, interacting with him all the time, plus her knowing of a prophecy that she’d find someone to fall in love with, that wouldn’t be like other men that she has known.

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

I mean… Freya just wants what she can’t have, specially with Bell not being affected by her charm. Bell’s existence makes her cold heart beat once again.

I do appreciate that she values the friendship she had with Ryuu, and refused to charm her by force.

@Moppit

you forget Freya's power about being able to see the color of someone's soul.

Remember bell is the argonaut. If we know a little bit about Greek mythology we can decipher this because Argonaut is based on Theseus.
Theseus is known for fighting a minotaur. Bell fights a minotaur on the episode literally titled "argonaut"

there is some more information that they sprinkle throughout the first season, and I think it could be one of those things if viewers went back to rewatch it they could connect some dots.

I'm not going to spoil anything, but I think this is some important information some viewers have forgotten lol

Well I kind of agree with most of what you said as in my opinion, the whole Freya-obsession-plot is taking waayyy too long. I guess that I'm a little bit less tired of this whole story than you though 😂, because even if it's going way too far in the obsessive 372th wife plot I still think it might unveil some actual great material further in the season (I'm anime only I've no idea what I'm talking about it's just a guess, could be a total flop idk)
So well maybe you should at least continue till episode 10 because during the last one (9) they F I N A L L Y teased us some real action, and we can finally at last see the end of the tunnel of this spiral of whatever-dere madness (or at least I hope so)

Hope I made my comment clear, I'm not a native English speaker 🫢

Danmachi has always been a Hero Story, which is what most people don't seem to understand. It's the story about Bell becoming the Hero of the Lower World. The story isn't a super linear story that goes straight to the point like for example Jujutsu Kaisen, but it takes its time to build things, to let Bell grow properly while also building the lore.

The dungeon is certainly one of the end goal of the story, the other being the One Eyed Black Dragon. This arc might not be Dungeon related but it's very important for the progress of the story as it will let Bell grow stronger and it will impact the standing of the Freya Familia, the strongest faction in the city, who are vital for conquering the Dungeon and defeating the Black Dragons just as much as Bell or the Loki Familia.

You say the show has steered off from being a hero story but it certainly hasn't, if anything this will be an important arc for Bell to finally become one of the heroes of Orario and to put his name as a candidate for the Last Hero (if you remember what the Last Hero is which I doubt).
