By Fujiko Mine I meant a whore in the literal sense of the word, a femme fatale who will shamelessly use sex to control and destroy men

No, Fujiko Mine is wayyy too erotic of a femme fatale to be palatable for a mainstream anime audience, there'd be some complaints of sexism and female objectification.

I think such a show would be perceived pretty well, given the popularity of determined women.
No, this isn't my signature.

I've been holding off on Lupin the 3rd, but now I think I'll start the franchise after I'm done with Gallery Fake.

Maybe and maybe not. It can go either way. I mean, on one hand, you can look at it as sexual objectification. But at the same time, she's using her body to take advantage of weak-willed men. So, it's not like she's just a piece of meat since she's clever about using her looks for her own gains.

@Deathko Bruh he asked a slightly polarizing question and instead of giving an opinion on it(like everyone else in this thread) you immediately brought politics to the table, not to mention you are the only one who did. You gotta check your walls man it might be you in the echo chamber.

@AshuAmbrose Literally the first answer is "there'd be some complaints of sexism and female objectification."

We all know what these "would X be possible today?" loaded questions mean, but you can pretend you don't. Just don't complain when others are more straightforward.

She'd probably be fine. Femme Fatale characters are even popular in Western media with characters like Catwoman from DC Comics, so I don't see why Mine would be recieved any different.
This post is brought to you by your local transfem gamer goblin. Will not tolerate bigotry and will fight against "anti-woke" sentiment to make the anime community a safer place.

Today's anime fans and lawmakers are more vocal about issues like representation and gender portrayal, so a mainstream anime featuring Fujiko Mine will absolutely spark controversy. I see and love her as a strong, multifaceted manipulative character, but others like feminists will criticize her depiction as overly sexualized.

But it's still doable as you have seen Fujiko in recent Lupin series set in Italy and London. it depends on how the character of fujiko is written and her design is presented. If done thoughtfully, with attention to such social media outburst and, it could be well-received.

@RainyEvenings Back when we still had self-proclaimed feminists here (that was ages ago, the Current Events crowd and complicit moderation exiled them to other, less antagonizing anime communities), I didn't read a single complaint about Fujiko Mine. In fact, googlig "feminist anime" will give you a bunch of lists and forum threads, and Lupin: Fujiko Mine is mentionned in all those I checked. I highly doubt things changed that much in a decade.
Feminist =/= puritan. Some are, some aren't. Lots of feminist artists are very open about sexual themes.
