| It’s a mix between making the episode having a more cinema-like feel and to have a more subtle focus on distance and the philosophy of being “normal” from my observations. The aspect ratio helps to distance the camera from our main leads, which leads to them blending in more with the surrounding environment. That’s why whenever a close-up happens, it becomes more significant as whoever is the target subject will be the center of focus from the close-up, countering the previously mentioned philosophy. |

I think they're going for a cinematic look for the rest of the show, as evident from the aspect ratio combined with the animation and cinematography (with the lighting and the framing among other elements) an example of this is the opening scene of episode 2. |
