Now John Locke entered the chat... wonder who we will see next?

Karl Marx would be nice but I think he would be kinda too "mainstream".
Hegel would be fun and from similar time period as rest, same Immanuel Kant... adding Diogenes would be the chad move but I think authors have different idea for their series.

omg i'm actually starting to love this manga. we got another philosopher and i'm interested to see who we'll get next. this chapter felt like a jab aimed personally at me though, when my guy started talking about jobs.
one of the most relatable panels I've ever seen;

LMFAO they introduced John Locke now. This keeps getting better and better.

Now, I'd like to know the original text in Locke's and Kierkegaard's conversation, because I have my doubts whether the later would have thrown that comment about social contracts in capitalism.

Hopefully we end up getting more philosophists showing up; I'd love seeing Stirner or even Marx for the sake of it.
Pretend there's something flashy and cool here.

I would imagine him talking to overworked people and those working in black companies and in the same time investing in crypto to understand and "abuse" this system. But homeless? I doubt, it's not like Japanese government would block him to find a job lol

@Nieznajomy43 Nah I meant it more like his only useful skill was to philosophize and make social analyses. He was otherwise a NEET who lived off other people's money lol.

Well, Kierkegaard wasn't too different, but Marx is notorious for a being a NEET who created an entire ideology based around the importance and value of labor, which is ironic.

I mean he lived off other people's money mostly because it was hard time for him to find job because of his views, like only Britain didn't expelled him. Obviously he didn't value money enough to "sacrifice" his views but I think in "today" Japan I could see him having par-time job in convenience store or even regular job because it's worth remembering in his times work day lasted 14~16 hours for average workers.

Ok as funny as this sounds, now I realize that all those people had their lives. like Locke and Kierkegaard were never married and never had kids but eg Marx had wife, kids and grandkids that died before him, if he appeared in this story would those tragic events be represented or glossed over?

@Nieznajomy43 Marx's family history was more depressing than anything else. His father's last letter to him was basically calling him a lazy idiot who should get a job. A few of Marx's children died young, arguably because Marx lived in poverty as, again, he spent most of his time writing.

The best way Marx could be portrayed here would probably be as an idealistic university student who works part-time and complains about how he thinks his contract for his labor is inherently exploitative.

In any case, I don't think Marx would be included here because he is explicitly a political figure more than a philosophical figure, and his contributions were more on the side of sociology and economics (sadly), working mostly from other people's works, such as Smith's or Ricardo's. Besides, I just don't think there would be much of a space to relate existentialism with socialism, historical materialism or any other ideas associated with Marx. It could work if he's made to debate with someone like Locke perhaps, but only in part.
Pretend there's something flashy and cool here.
