The ending "Anytime Anywhere" for Frierens 1st cour is like a question.
The lyrics, "Are you alright? Can you hear me?" Suggests that frieren is asking questions.

In the second cour however, the ending is answering the question.
"And I'm alright, Yeah, I hear you"
It's super sweet.


I was wondering if any of you caught on to this?
And I also am curious about who the questions are asked to. At first I thought that it would obviously be directed to Himmel. But I could be wrong.

I did not think about it. Off topic but I love how Aura cuts off her head and suddenly there's the ending "Are you alright?" xD

That is a nice thing that could be made more often in other anime, at least not from one cour to another, but after half-cour for example:

- The EDs of Frieren 1st Season are the 2 parts of the same song.

For example, this would be wonderful if happened with that "My War" AOT OP, which second part is really good and no one could watch it in the anime.

i heard the first couple lyrics of op 1 and op 2, before exiting out of the show. Caught on, just wasnt interested in listening to engrish.

This ending fits Frieren's experience so much. Out of all 1000+ years of her existence, a mere 10 years, was enough to change her than those centuries that have passed.

"I tell you, even if I were reborn"
"I'd choose this place again"
"I tell you if we meet by chance again"
"I won't let you go any more, I'd choose now"

These lines are somewhat bittersweet, they tell the significance of those 10 years with the Hero Party to Frieren, yet at the same time, it tells of her regrets, regrets of letting them go.

For me it's about Himmel asking Frieren. During the time Himmel was alive and was asking if Frieren was alright during her journey alone, and Frieren answers (in the second cour she says her long hair). Frieren answering "I'm alright - I'll be alright" could be placed before or after Himmel's death in the same way.
(But if we think about Frieren's current journey it could be reversed, Frieren asking Himmel if he is alright, wherever he is. Both of them singing the lullaby for the other one to come home.)

Yup, I caught that in the 17th episode. Coz these songs are so so soothing and relaxing.
In fact I have added both of them to my Spotify Playlist 😇.
