| An interesting video indeed, there's so much happening. I wasn't sure a lot of the time how they did everything. It seemed like a mixture of puppetry and CGI, but then again with the development of graphics it's hard to tell. The dog looked like a puppet, but the female figure looked too shiny at times to be a real object. The credits do mention "riggers" so I presume real puppets were involved, but maybe everything was given a CGI sheen to make things consistent. In any case, the visible strings became a part of the story, the car driving itself, and the teddy bear being ponderous, but still controlled by strings. It's not a new metaphor, no-one being totally in control of their fate, with barely visible strings of our circumstances directing us, but here it was interesting and subtle enough. It's not a self-evident interpretation, but it's possible, especially considering the ending, the strings being pulled off and the characters finally moving independently. Heaven as independence or something. |
