Laila sure is an enigmatic character, but I'm not sure if I like her that much. She seems a bit bland to me, like she only exists to accelerate the main plot. Perhaps I'm being too judgemental.

Great one! Ol' Golgo 30 went down in the gunfight when they found out he was against ROOF/Valeria. I like how Golgo started as a strange side character and became more important as the episode went on. Kiell seems to be a double-agent, Steak Knife kind of fellow. Is he the "greatest enemy" of Sheyenne mentioned earlier, or is that Laila?

On Sheyenne's side of the story, he found Laila again, but now he knows that she is the leader(?) of ROOF. I am not sure if he was Keanu or what, but it seems to line up with what we've seen so far (body being in ROOF's base and being killed by Laila). I'm not sure what a Goddess is - perhaps that's just what they call her for killing the King of the Evil Race. Not sure what the Jihad was 10,000 years ago either. Sheyenne seems to be like a reborn Keanu or something? Angels seem to be modified humans meant to perfect the Goddess' power or to purify the Evil Race's powers? Something like that? Gina Angel seemed similar to Sybil, and I am wondering if they are not all Lailas, of a sort, sort of like the Bison clones in Street Fighter Alpha series. Strangely, it seems that Laila killed him because she was jealous of his womanizing? I'm not sure if that is the whole story. What is ROOF's intent exactly? National power? Weapons manufacturing and sales? Exporting powerful mercenaries?

Some weirdness (but less than normal):
I swear Fetalite (or however it is spelled) was pronounced differently before. It's just not a great name anyway. Also, the episode title writes out Bacchas, but the DVD case says "Bacchus". Latter seems more correct. The beginning was horny, and then the ladies just don't appear again. It really works better when the series is not trying to tie both teams together, and the ladies are often just so zany and comedic that they kind of derail the show. Isaac already provides comic relief and provides most of the caring, which makes him a very well-rounded character. The ladies often feel poorly utilized. Really kind of a shame.

Also, just a minor thing that had me thinking. I was surprised by the telephone in this episode, but it makes sense. I love that the series has a late 19th century tech level. That provides so much opportunity for mystery. There also is some fancy sci-fi stuff too.

Anyway, this was a great episode. Again, the creators were able to combine a single-episode story with plot development. Golgo was a really interesting character with a tragic end.
