Guy is sitting at home, watching japanese Cartoons and thinks it's about the "modern era" or "love" xDDDD

My little dude?
It's a silly, little Harem, meant to let some other guy escape from reality for half an hour, per week.
It's not that deep^^

Touch some grass.

Why is anyone being serious about the relationships in this show? It's meant to be sarcastic. Just have a good laugh about it.

Well...I wouldn't argue. (I don't intend to get married for now so a harem scenario would be more favorable for me.)

This definitely is an overanalysis. Kanojo mo Kanojo is one of the most genuinely fun shows I've watched. This does not imply that people who love it want to have multiple lovers as that logic could be extended to just about any anime concept like the existence of tsunderes and yanderes. They'd be insufferable irl but in anime they're the most enjoyable things ever to me at least. Although some portion of the fanbase for the show might actually feel the way you describe them, it does not hold true at all for generalisation.

People want as many people to care about them and love them as possible though such stories are impossible irl outside of chads for guys.

Of course it's what men want, lmao. It's just (obviously) mathematically impossible for all but a few men to actually have harems. But throughout history kings, rich men, etc have had harems.

I'm personally not a fan of harem anime. But it's not as if the concept of multiple partners is foreign to our world. There are people who cheat, have open relationships, or have transient sexual relationships with different people. Whether or not people deem that type of behavior appropriate is based on personal opinion. But I don't look to self-insert in these harem protagonists. I'm only interested in the outcome of these relationships.

I wouldn't mind being part of a reverse harem with a guy I get along with, so obviously I'm ok with the harem trope whichever way it goes.

multiple girls in love with you, a harem? Is that truly the ideal desired romance for the modern man?

It's very noticeable over the past few years that a lot of works have involved the MC ending up with a harem or picking up a million girls. They are all just fantasies of course, just fictional animations and stories. But the large support and interest from men have made them more and more popular over the years, and bolstered this trend that is not coming to a halt anytime soon with shows like this.

What happened to having a single true love, love at first sight, the romance your own parents once experienced ?

Although it (harem) is a common trope now in romance comedies animes, I wonder why the industry can't innovate in this genre (romance) and make something that really stands out. Because nowadays the only difference among most of these works is the situation (Futaro from Gotoubon is a tutor of the harem, Kanojo mo kanojo MC is dating all of them at the same time, Rudeus Greyrat is also another example).

Is it really just what men in the modern era want? To have multiple lovers and options. And live out this desire vicariously through mediums like anime? Because nowadays they have none/few ?

well tbh, sir or ma'am whatever you are, when girls love to flirt and sleep with a lot of men.... thats supported in feminism right.....? so let us men be natural born studs.... Where is the problem in that? although I agree having a single companion i.e., a wife, is a blessing and thats what it should be.

Even worse burner account.

People want 100 girlfriends and to be an overpowered psychopath talking like an edgy teen or some shit.

This is basically asking something like "Why watch Sousou no Frieren? Do you want to go on a grueling adventure?" "Why watch Jujutsu no Kaisen? Do you fantasize fighting curses while getting beaten up so badly?"
While it might be the case for an extremely small group of people, most are just watching for the entertainment value. It's as simple as that.

I am a man and yes, this is what I want. Am I going to get it? No. But this is what I want.

I asked 3 of my friends and they want it too.

Is it what I want in IRL? No, but this show does make me laugh, especially with how over-the-top & shameless the humor is.

Welllll, let me just point this out real quick that polygamy is growing in acceptance, and became decriminalized in Utah in 2023. So I would not be surprised if men and or women would want to practice polygamy
