We getting 12 or 24 ep?

I hope for a good 24 eps that way it can end on the megalodon fight with good pacing. If we only get 12 im worried about where in the story it will end. I dont see them only using the first two books if that is the case. We rightfully need a few seasons, a lot happens in each book!

from my observation, most ln adaptations do between 2-4 volumes per cour. since it's silver link, I think a 2 cour season would be very unlikely, but recently they have been more willing to do sequel seasons. so while a 24 episode season is very unlikely, if it is popular enough in Japan, multiple seasons is more likely than just 1 season.

its probably going to be 12 episodes. i don't think the fanbase is large enough to anticipate enough viewers to be worth a 24 episode anime from the get go. if it gets enough viewers in japan, they might do another season. 

I think them using the first two books its perfectly reasonable. most studios try to cram as much as possible and do like 4-5 volumes in a single season. but this series in particular is very well packed. the manga took 20 chapters just to end volume 1. not to mention the first 2 volumes do follow and easy to adapt and well laid out 3 act structure, full with an introduction, rising to action ending in a climax, and a decently satisfying resolution. 

heck the author did write in the light novels themselves (volume 3 afterword) that they originally only meant for the story to go as far as volume 2. But the series had too many lose ends and there was enough people interested in it to continue. he even wrote that if you consider it a movie series, volume 3 was the beginning of the second movie. its possible he will want the studio treating it that way. 

so yeah. my prediction is it will end after the conflicts in Renmo or the reveal of the serpents and leave on a cliffhanger there to promote sales of the light novel or a possible season 2.
