we're ~60% of the way through this season and i don't feel like there's been any character development at all. nor have we actually seen much training or cultivation; the characters just get stronger or add a new technique after the mc shows it to them

every episode has a fight, or 95% of episodes do. and that's fine. but when each episode is only 5 minutes long (excluding op/ed), and there's a fight in each one, it doesn't leave much time for development. the overall plot is fine though. i don't have a problem with that. though i do have a problem with how the first 1-2 episodes just mashed a bunch of important stuff together as if nobody would care.

episode 1 goes from the mc's sect/clan being taken over by eagle guy and mc is kicked out while the whereabouts of his father (the sect leader) are unknown at this time after going into some battle elsewhere. ok, that works. mc is "trash" with no ability to awaken a star soul. except he does awaken one; or 4 to be exact. but we don't know how or why. it just happens. we don't know how or why he ends up secluded with a random guy, his sister who hadn't yet been introduced, and some other woman who hadn't yet been introduced

idk, no episode is ever "good", but no episode is ever "bad", either. it's just consistently average/fine. and i think i should probably just drop it
