for me gotta be Dabi's Dance. This ENTIRE season has been nothing but hype and out of all that hype it has to be Dabi's Dance. His revelation and the voice acting(in both sub and dub) was immaculate. My overall rating for the season is 8/10, a good rating for My Hero for me. It only loses 2 points because the animation was a little lower compared to previous seasons and a few points felt weak compared to the manga(especially Mirko Vs. Nomu, the manga had some INSANE art with that and the anime side was more clean in contrast with the messiness of the manga and the smeared ink) but it's still a great season. Onwards to Season 7!
My Ranking for the seasons(Worst to Best)
6. Season 5: Compared to the manga, it kinda ruined MVA. The animation took a huge cut, and switching Endeavor Agency and MVA was stupid and only confuses the viewer and basically spoils MVA before you even watch it. Overall 7/10.
5. Season 1: Season 1 was fire and was still good but compared to the other seasons there isn't a ton that makes it stand out. Obviously it's nostalgic but the fights only really come at the end. And All Might Vs. Nomu gets better animation than Shigiraki Vs. Re-Destro, which isn't good for one of the most monumental fights yet. Overall 7.8/10.
4. Season 3: Season 3 started out strong with the Hideout Raid arc and was fire, especially All Might Vs. All For One, but the second half drags it down. The Provisional License exam arc is fine but that's all it is. Boring fights and boring plot imo. Still, the season is still great so 8/10.
3. Season 4: Season 4 is where this show keeps its momentum full force. The first arc with the Yakuza was amazing and the final battle was some of the best animation in My Hero yet, not to mention the School Festival arc, which we DEFINITELY needed after the chaos that was the Yakuza. Eri's smile and Jiro's performance elevated this season and did wonders for My Hero. Overall 8.6/10.
2. Season 6: While I had some negative things to say about Season 6, it's strong points completely overweigh it's weaker points. Yes, the animation has been brought down and some points are weakened in adaptation but the sheer wave of depression this season has brought is amazing. It's a complete change of pace for MHA and is sending it towards a grand finale. Overall 8.8/10.
1. Season 2: So, you had a good enough Season 1 and you've arrived to the manga's tournament arc. Tournament arcs are hard, and the whole world has it's eyes on MHA. What do you do? You make the best season of MHA yet. Season 2 coming in first is no surprise, and it's clear why. The entire first arc of the season was near perfect, and Deku Vs. Todoroki had to have broken the internet at some point. MHA us here at a time where Bleach is finished(for now) and Naruto is gearing up towards its finale. Two massive shonens have just ended, and you rise to be the next big thing. And you bet it works. And even after the Sports Festival, does the season lose this momentum? Not at all. The Stain Arc is equally amazing and the Teacher Fight(?) arc does great things as well, and the Season ends with pure hype and Shigaraki's declaration of war to Deku. No season of MHA has done as good as this season, and if you want to make a good shonen season, this is where you look. Overall 10/10. |
