Will Gundam go full Macross Mode?

Clearly Sunrise is taking what they learn from Love Live and implementing it into Gundam such as the yuri bait. But will we be seeing idols in Gundam soon? Like, an Idol Gundam series in the future.

I certainly hope not. the idol focus is why I'm so hesitant to watch newer Macross. the older stuff looks awesome and I thankfully enjoy the music in those. Buuut modern idol stuff is painfully generic and clearly isn't for me.

Don’t see any resemblance between Witch From Mercury and Macross.

Witch From Mercury is about anti-corporatism.

Macross is humanity coexisting with humanoid aliens~

I doubt Suletta will become an idol like Minmay, Basara, Sheryl, Ranka, Walkure, etc.

Sunrise studio 8 definitely shifted from making mecha, yuribait and LN adaptations to full time idolshit Love Live.

We already got idols in Gundam, see Build Fighters.

And if they do go all in on Gundam Idols I'd be really interested in seeing it since I imagine it'll be a dour, sobering, unromantic look at the toxicity of that particular industry. Frankly, given how well G-Witch has done its stuff so far I'll be quite happy to see G-Idol.
