The Spirit Flow of Aokigahara Not bad, but not a favorite... Although Junji Itou's range of creativity is always impressive. Even if I may be unaware or miss the potential lore his stories have. Interesting phenomenom of a trail going through a cave called the dragon's mouth, trapping former suicidal individuals, including the protagonists, as obsessed "prisoners" who don't need nourishment anymore to survive, as their bodies slowly get refined and polished like as tree being thinned out, always flowing together as a sea of spirits every night... The guy licking his new friend as they belitte his girlfriend was bizarre though, but it adds to their creepy new attitude to life. 5/10. |
