| Last time I felt so distraught and had heavy thoughts lingering for days after finishing an anime or manga was when I finished Fire Punch. This one definitely hits right in the feels, was surprised at how well they did conveying the emotions of the characters and feel of the setting. |

| Meh.... When I saw David arm implant shacking, I knew he couldn't make it. Plus, maybe It sounds weird, but when Maine and David go cyberpsycho and slaughter every police-militech-innocent guys, and then, start a monologue about their end-purpose-chooses in a anime style, I felt kinda dirty....I mean, they kill people who have too dreams and purposes and now, we must feel sorry especially for them? And, am I alone to get tired of "I Really Want to Stay at Your House" song? I groaned when it start in the middle of the end fight, with David killing 3 TRAUMA guys, Adam shooting him, and Faranay turning into bolo sauce.... That's just my opinion. |
| Same OP. The ending broke me. I couldn't stop crying. It was beautiful yet so sad at the same time. Poor Lucy. My heart goes out to her. When she imagined seeing David smiling at the moon then disappears, a part of me died. She was all alone : ( She recalled a very endearing memory of the good times. Now listening to "I really want to stay at your house" will forever haunt me. |

| Even if there are negative criticisms, even if there are pushback from countries on censorship basis, or even a poor reception. I can bet my life on it. In time it’s gonna go down as one of the best animes of all time in the genre. ° |

| (finished the series yesterday) Me scrolling through these threads to try and get some closure for the quiet but very hard beating my heartstrings have taken the last 24 hours 🫠 Honestly I'm still extremely torn on the ending. On one hand I think it was really good in the way that they portrayed things such as how gang violence doesn't solve anything, what can happen if you assume you're invincible just because you're a little different etc. But at the same time, despite everything, I'd hoped that the end would have like... just a little more hope in it? While I cannot support anything they did, this anime did an amazing job in getting me attached to the 2 main characters so having David go down in such an unceremonious way without having really achieved anything really stung. And the moon scene, oh lawd the moon scene, seeing that sheer contrast of who he was verses who he'd become wrenched my insides like nothing else. Imagining Lucy in that moment gives me more second-hand loneliness than any anime has in a long time (if not ever). Anyway, I think that's enough venting for the moment, mayhaps my heart will be able to feel a little bit better now :"D |
