| The 1997 anime is a good introduction to the world of Berserk, and it actually (sorta) starts at the beginning of the story, whereas the manga starts at a later point in the story and then backtracks. |

| You can watch 2007 anime or the Gold Age movies. They are both good. But they adapt barely the prologue, so you need to read manga anyway. |

| i would say go straight for the manga. the anime is optional, but imo it's only good for it's iconic OST and a few bits of animation. otherwise the manga surpasses it in every aspect, it's just a masterpiece. |
