| Well the show definitely deserves a better rating than overrated stuff like DS. But rn the MAL score is still fine considering the fact how ignorant the MAL community generally is. | Well, if they have not portrayed Republic of San Magnolia as so dumb, i would have given it a better score. Atleast if there few other major characters who had different opinion or some inside Coup d'état or rebel army who had different opinion about countries working (it doesnt really have to be same as lena's opinion or sympathy for 86). Instead all we got was drunk bastards. |

| 86 is a good anime but far from a masterpiece. The ratings seem fair to me and let’s not forget that before part 2 dropped this anime was rated below 8, so it’s mostly the sequel effect. Don’t go around telling people how to rate things. That’s how many communities have been ruined on here. |

Also, looking at later dates 86 has always hovered around 8.20 Perhaps you mean when the anime was still on air? Since a lot of people don't give their score until the series is over, those preliminary ratings aren't very representative. Oh yes you’re actually right. I went and watched the anime around May I think so yes it was definitely while it was airing. You’re right, my mistake. |
