Tadashi blushing at called a "dog" was icky. Never liked the dynamics between him and Adam. Whatever floats their boat, I guess.

I'm afraid you would have lost your money. Renga is a canon couple with an unfriendly dynamic. Look at the fact that Reki constantly covers his groin in Langa's presence and tries very hard not to get too close to him. |

| Damn when Adam wants a big race, he gives us a big race, going for the whole death motif there with a new track that evidently is dangerous even amongst experienced skaters AND the original course for the S races to boot. Well there we have it, the final beef was set and Langa was certainly on fire with this race no questions asked. Though I’m not sure I liked Adam being redeemed here, because OK the guy had like a rough upbringing and may have lost his spark in skating but come on the dude was seriously harming other skaters! He literally put Cherry Blossom as well as Shadow in the hospital and didn’t care whether or not he did or didn’t commit the act. For Cherry, he SMACKED his skateboard into his face at a fast pace and then sent a guy to TAKE OUT SHADOW OUT OF THE RUNNING FOR THE NEXT RACE. Yeah we get a happy ending it’s kind of what I need with this kind of show but Adam shouldn’t have needed a redemption and Tadashi for some reason APPROVES the fact that he’s called a dog, blushes and is perfectly happy to stay in an abusive relationship that he’s probably had for years? What? Really? The policewoman who Elizabeth Maxwell plays? Never mind her, the plot line with her is ultimately resolved in the span of the last couple of minutes of this episode. Seriously what was the point of this plot line again? It just came and went basically it just added nothing to the overall narrative. If you took her character out as well as the stuff involving Adam, the whole politic thing in general out of the anime, then the show would’ve just continued as if nothing happened. That being I did have a fun time with SK8 the Infinity in general. Crisp visuals, great animation, plus the soundtrack really rocking a lot of awesome tunes which I quite frankly want to listen to more of after the races they were used in. This was honestly my first sports anime going in and I didn’t know what to expect from it in general. And I’m glad for the most part that I enjoyed it. Not what I’d call brilliant but still worth a look for me. Personally don’t take this one seriously it’s a fun like skating show and I personally am looking forward to the second season when it comes out. Overall I’ll give SK8 the Infinity an 8/10. |
